Knicks · Nobody touches Porzingod! (page 1)

There is no scenario out there that will justify trading Kristaps Porzingis....

Just leaving this here. Have a good day

Nalod @ 7/5/2016 10:23 AM
Mike and Mike posed the question: Would you trade KP6 for Westbrook today?

obviously, salary does not work and we do have rose, but if there was one player today that could take us to the top, who is it and would you do it?
Besides Lebron James.

JoeyBagadonuts @ 7/5/2016 10:52 AM
If Minny offered Karl Anthony Towns, Phil would have to take the call.
NYKBocker @ 7/5/2016 10:53 AM
Nope. If KP is traded we riot.

Not sure there is a player in the league I trade KP for. Despite some idiotic threads he's untouchable. Knicks have NEVER traded a player like KP in the past. Trading picks is not the same.

Rescind the offers to Lee & Jennings, Trade KP for Russell. I think that works, math wise, or close to it.

Take the call, why not.

Make the deal, nah.

Towns may wind up being the superior player (odds are in his favor) and a great center. But KP has a ceiling that's hard to top. The potential of his game and the way the NBA is played is too enticing to turn over for a marginally surer thing.

Its a wash. Towns right now you can give the ball to and ask him to give you a basket. KP's strength is playing team ball. He's where he belongs and Towns is where he belongs

I don't think we will truly see KP's potential until he is big enough to consistently play center. KP still has trouble guarding quick PFs and he would be much quicker than most centers.

I don't think we should keep forcing him to gain weight and become a center. Dirk had been a 4 his whole career. Even now that he lost several steps. Tim Duncan played the 4 for 35 years in San Antonio. KP'S length and athleticism is what makes him original. He can't lose that to exclusively play center. We need him to keep his unicorn status. We should always start him next to a real center. Throughout the course of a game he can slide over for stints...

nixluva @ 7/5/2016 12:11 PM
IMO KP has immense upside. He is still growing into his gigantic frame. No one his size should be as fluid as he is. Westbrook is highly reliant on his athletic ability. I do not believe he will be able to keep up this level of output for as long as we would like. KP has his entire career ahead of him and I would not be in a hurry to move him.
EnySpree @ 7/5/2016 12:18 PM
KP is in the best situation... no pressure to be a 20 point scorer. No pressure to do anything. Rose and Melo set the table. Noah and Lee are ball movers. KP is set up to clean up all over the court. That's what he needs to do. While everyone is battling to stop Rose and contain Melo... KP is going to run wild in the offense. Noah is going to be there to protect him too. When someone wants to try to get in his head, Noah is like Oakley in that regard.

Yep yep yep.

I'm so excited for KP to be able to Unicorn it up on this team. He'll have a lot of freedom to roam, which is perfect for him. Find the seams that the pressence of Melo, Rose, Jennings create. Catch some nice passes from Noah and Rose and Jennings and even Dad Melo.

I question any Knicks fan who would trade KP for anything. This is a gift and we must treasure this opportunity to have a franchise player for his whole career.

WaltLongmire @ 7/5/2016 12:21 PM
ESPN radio has a poll on KP for Westbrook- straight up, I think.

About 3,000 votes in, and 79% are AGAINST trading KP for Westbrook.

Thank you, I am really bothered with the idea that this guy has to become a traditional center.

They are talking about on Hahn and Humpty right now.

Lets face it, though, it ultimately comes down to where he is most effective and efficient as a player.

KP recently talked about improving his handle, and mentioned how he wants to be able to take the bigger/slower guys outside and exploit them, but also be able to punish a smaller defender in the post.

He would end up being a kind of hybrid center on offense, but he needs to be able to shoot about 65-70% in the post when guarded by a smaller player, IMO.

Its a good chat. Nobody is trading KP. This just doesn't happen. He's a franchise talent. They don't get traded except for other clear franchise talent (CWebb for Penny).

But I guess since we once traded Gallinari anything is possible!
