Wow. Wade did it. Good for him. But I have no idea what the Bulls are thinking. Getting rid of one year of DRose for two years of Wade and Rondo??? Huh?

He disrespected Wade who is well liked around the league. This will turn off the major free agents and its unlikely he will ever be able to sign a major free agent.

Wade was a big part of the reason why big names went to Miami. With the way they treated him I doubt anyone goes to them next year. The Lakers did right by Kobe and Pat pretty much kicked Wade to the curb. How is it possible that Wade has never been the highest paid player on his team. For all the money he gave up for the better of the team they should have done him a solid. While I did not agree the extension the Lakers gave to Kobe at the time, I respect them for taking care of a player who gave his all for them. Don't forget what Pat said to Lebron before Lebron went back to the Cavs. Superstars don't forget those things.
+1 on all points. My view exactly with Kobe and wade.
I feel like Wade wanted out and wanted to go for another ring but also wanted to get paid. I think he wanted to go to Cleaveland but they couldnt or wouldnt make it happen.

I like has Riley can do no wrong ever. Whatever happens is part of his master plan. Bosh-Whiteside-McRoberts-Dragic-Winslow will be making over $70m between them, with Bosh's $25 possibly an albatross.
Sure, $36m or so is a nice number (after cap holds) but not two max numbers. Who's going there to follow in the Big 3's footsteps?
i think dragic can be moved quite easy. bosh may never play again so if its medical retirement, then that contract is gone.

They are playoff contenders but not elite. This move reeks of desperation. They were becoming irrelevant after trading Rose, so they're trying to appease the fan base by signing Rondo and Wade. I guess it's a 2 year timetable for both--short term--but it's completely changing directions rather quickly.
It's stupid but at least its only 2 yrs and not 4 yrs. Broken Down Wade is still a major upgrade over Rose though on both sides of the ball.
I know they want do this but If they started Wade at PG and had Rondo come off the bench it would be a 2.0 version of Rose and Jennings. As much as Butler plays with the ball in his hands they could actually do that but I highly doubt Rondo would be up for coming off the bench
You really think a 35 year old Wade is better at this point than a 28 year old Rose one year removed from a relatively healthy season? I know he's not the same player he once was physically after injuries, but I would hope he'd be better right now in his prime than an older Wade. You're right, though, he did look good in the playoffs.
There is the possibility that offensively they will be even if Wade regresses like most people who ages and Rose gets better. The thing that helps Wade is that he gets to the FT line. Last year an aging Wade was on par with Rose's best year when it comes to getting to the line. That's a problem.

why did paxson gift dunleavy to the cavs? nuts.
rose was really bad for chicago last year. but they just cant attract big name free agents in their prime. so why not replace one chicago hero witn a better one?

So multiple stars are coming to play with Whiteside in Miami so they can be forever compared to the first Big 3..?
Alrighty then.

McDermott shot 42.5% from three on 3.2 attempts(5 attempts per 36). I thought he sucked last year until someone pointed it out to me a month or so ago.
Good call, I forgot about him. So now we have 3 shooters. 1st is good, 2nd is very young so can't be relied on yet and the 3rd is streaky. I would still let them beat you from 3. 2 of the 3 are also bad defenders.

Most definitely, it just sucks that Wade and Butler know how to get to the line despite being suspect 3pt shooters.

Good point. I'm expecting Rose to have a big, contract year if he stays healthy. He had the whole season last year to rehab while playing and test his body. He should be better this year. He also has not problem getting to line when he is attacking.

Totally agree. Riley thinks tossing his five rings on the table made everything happen in Miami. He's in for a rude awakening.
So Riley has now played hardball with Bron and Wade... and come up very very very very empty. Heat are rebuilding at this rate. And they just maxed out Whiteside for some reason.

He actually does and I'm talking about when he was Healthy. In rose's best year he got to the line 1.3 more times than Carmelo Anthony in his worst year. You wuould think he was getting to the line more given his athleticism. He is a good ft shooter that is wasting opportunities because he fades left or right when driving.
Even despite his shooting flaws, I would have been more optimistic if he should something as a shot creator for others but his assist were very poor.
Bulls at least managed to salvage respectability from this summer. I'm sure the fanbase was KILLING them. Don't know how the fans feel about these moves but it at least saves them from being awful, but then I thought they kind of wanted to stink so they could get that draft pick for the team's future. Not seeing their plan here.

Wasn't he the one who initiated/organized them coming together? Riley could not have talked to anyone ahead of time, unless he told Wade to talk to James and Bosh.
Wade was getting less money from Riley than he deserved, and had taken less to allow the Heat to sign James and Bosh, if I remember correctly.
You wonder if the Whiteside contract was the last straw.
