I could really see this happening. And it might make the Celtics the best team in the East...
Blake was on the outs with the Clippers and that Clippers team needs a gust of fresh air badly. They seem like a stale group that has peaked already.
Something to watch...

that would be a game changer.
Didn't they just sign al Horford? I don't like Griffin in Boston
If the Clipps are not getting a package around Crowder then it would seem silly. Also, if this trade goes down the Clips can probably forget about keeping Paul and will likely diminish their ability to lure Westbrook.
If I was Doc I would be on the phone with Denver who probably has the best selection of young talent and picks. I believe those two were in discussion but talks broke down.

Could be about Doc having a little be of a cozy relationship between him and Ainge. They at least have a deeper relationship than most.

The Celtics still have the Nets unprotected 2018 and 2020 picks
LA should never trade Blake Griffin.
So I can't think of a trade that makes sense unless they trade Amir Johnson, Jae Crowder and maybe Rozier for Griffin.... I would assume Boston throws in a 1st rounder.
The Clippers would then have to trade Chris Paul and build around DeAndre.
Boston would have Blake, Jaylen Brown, AL Horford, Isiaih Thomas and Bradley

Seems to me that the Clippers would in break up mode. They would want more than a single 1st rounder.
I'm not a gigantic fan of Griffith- the Boston lineup you show above does not really scare me.
Two things. The only thing the clips would want would be picks and maybe Jaylen brown. No way they're tradng for current roster -- at least not as deal driver
Second I don't know whether the Celtics remember how to play big. Would be interesting to watch but wondering who leads that group. Now people look to Stevens to lead but wonder whether Blake or horford fit right in w that

I do think they want picks, but if they don't get back some serious talent, the players there would leave first chance they get.
Will be interesting to see what happens.
The whole Boston acquiring picks might blow up in their face, a bit like how it did in Minnesota's and to a lesser extent Phili's.
I mean having talented players around in either a losing culture or not getting minutes, can turn them into bad players and really create a downward spiral on their career.
There needs to be a balance, it is not on paper so to speak.
I doubt that this rumor has legs.
Al Horford stated before he signed that he wanted to play the 4.
How would it look to other players whose destination was Boston
if the Celtics turned around and told him he was going to
have to play the 5.
Okafor at the right price is a more realistic rumor.

I agree u end up a bunch of 20 year olds wo a mentor
These guys are used to being alpha in college playing 25 games
Then they go to the pros and get a reality check. Phili in particular has bungled that aspect
So much losing the players stop holding themselves accountable and blame mgmt etc
I actually bet it happens... Boston has the chips and LA doesnt get the most of him with CP3. A scoring guard like Isiah would be a better fit. Bos could send a sweet package of Nets picks, Crowder to start
If clips accept that package then this is a desperation move. Even with Blake a FA next year that is still a horrible package. Boston should have taken Kris Dunn... that along with there 2nd tier players is a decent package

Horford just mentioned the other day that there was a time he wanted to play the 4, but that is no longer a requirement. The league has changed, he's a 5. That being said, i don't know why LA would deal him to Boston. I don't see them going full rebuild, and that's the value in dealing with Boston. For a fair trade, Denver is a much better trade partner.

That's a good trade for both teams.

that's what I think it happens... helps both teams. LAC played just as well when Blake was out. That's not to say he's not valuable, but rather that CP3 is a facilitator, but so is Blake. Blake with some more scoring around him would be ideal and Boston certainly has that. Horford can be a stretch 5 as he's willing to shoot 3s as well. I have no problem with Boston getting better. I look forward to that matchup.

Same here. I want them to be good so we can torture them when they can't get over the hump due to KP6 and Melo.

Is this something anyone would really want to do? I'm not sure, but is DJ on some sort of fast track to the HOF now?
If they trade Griffin for mostly picks, it might be enough for Paul to look for greener pastures. Clips won't be contending without someone to replace Griffin's production.
