Why would he want to stay there? Good luck attracting stars to Oklahoma...
I always thought Westbrook was a bright lights big city guy.
Espn speculating that Waiters QA was withdrawn to have more money to sign Westbrook.
This is why it's risky trying to build a team via free agency. Many didn't like the off season deals saying we should wait and go after _____ in free agency next year. If this happens, more the reason to like what Phil did this off season, at least on paper.
westbrook could not win a championship with one of the top players in the NBA and had several opportunities. He is so bad from a mental stand point, that his side kick left for a team that beat them.
I was never big on westbrook anyways. He hasn't been able to win with KD, and hasn't been extremely healthy either. For those who always complain about health of players, Westbrook has been hurt a good amount. He's in his prime, and can take over anytime he wants, but i don't see him aging well either.

Westbrook ages better than being in the lottery for the next 7 years ala Philly and the Sacramento Kings

Agree, which is why i have never endorsed going all-in on a long-term rebuild. We have a building block in KP already, so chasing additional lottery picks just to catch lighting in a bottle twice is not a good plan. We have already built a playoff team, if healthy. Where we go from here depends on how quickly KP develops next to Melo, Rose, Noah, Lee, and Jennings, and overall health. I would absolutely take Westbrook without hesitation, don't get me wrong. But for the way Melo is treated around here with his injuries and aging process, i have a feeling Westbrook would frustrate people after a couple more years.
Wow...there goes that thought of KP and Westbrook being paired together.
never thought I'd love Westbrook and hate Durant but wow. Wetbrook is an old school killer. I think this is awesome.

he's staying because he's not a pussy like LeBron was or Durant is

durant is a **** for leaving? He left because of westbrook. He does not have to stay or play with a guy that is hard to play with.

I don't think he's calling him a ***** for leaving but for joining a team that was already a top 2 team in the league but i guess he could be looked at as a ***** for both leaving OKC and joining an already super team.

He hasn't said that and Westbrook wanted him to stay. The only thing I have read at all critical was that it was 'reported' that he wanted to play in a more free flowing offense like the Warriors. I don't think there was ever a source identified for that report.
He has an opt out. He can be traded.
He has security.
Can we all agree that based on what we know now, the Derrick Rose trade was our best PG upgrade option(assuming Grant doesn't blow up and become a star). And what's the countdown on the "we should sign Chris Paul" next season talk?
