I guess you could put me in that category, though I never bashed him just he fact that this is a distraction and is happening at the most important part of the season for anyone who is joining a new team. That's been my issue from day one. How is he supposed to get on the same page as his teammates QUICKLY when we're talking about this?

the question is what is he supposed to do? Think about it... he's 24. He had nasty sex (but consensual) with this woman. 2 years later she hits him a civil suit to grab money. At this point his options are pay her to go away, or fight her in court. While his behavior may be unsavory to some why would he admit guilt and pay her? Why wouldn't he have his day in court to fight this? Yes its a distraction, and yes not having Rose for this part of the preseason sucks, but again.. what's the alternative? I mean one can always say Rose shouldn't have put himself in that position in the first place... but is even that realistic? Again... from Rose's POV it was consensual and intent was pretty transparent based on the texts of what was going to happen. At that point at 24 years old is envisioning this scenario realistic?

I disagree with one point, that this is the most important time. Its a short term setback at best. If this happened in April during a playoff push or god forbid the post season that would be 10000x worse. At end of the day Rose misses a handful of preseason games. I just think this looks and sounds much worse than it is.

On one hand, I hear you. On the other, I was raised to respect women. I think about how my grandmother or mother would react if I was in Rose's position. I also think about how I would flip my $$$$ if I heard about if someone did that to my sister.

Bill Clinton didn't rape anyone but he totally abused his power and got impeached. I still hold the "get in the truck" incident against Mebury. It took a lot of great moments for people to "forget" Kobe's misconduct. I'm not going to just dismiss Rose's conduct because this bitch is a gold digger. I expect more and generally speaking don't back those who have proven themselves to be suspect.

The culprit for lack of respect here is Jane Doe, whom it seems 1) asked for sex 2) asked for friends to come along for the ride 3) asked for drugs (ecstasy). She didn't respect herself.

It appears that Rose didn't just take what was offered, he did what was requested. This is backed up by Jane's co-worker as well as Rose and others. The texts are pretty clear no? Maybe new facts surface, but as of now I am just calling it like I see it.

doesn't it make it worse if you have access to a bunch of women and you decide to exert your influence to take advantage of someone who was either emotionally unstable or wasted, very likely both?

everyone engages in embarrassing behavior and I of course have participated in my fair share of embarrassing behavior. the difference between my embarrassing behavior and this is quite contrasting.

so I take it you're cool with his behavior then? nothing wrong? you wouldn't get mad if a woman who you were very dear with got treated like that? or how about the most unstable of chicks that have crossed your path - you think getting her loaded and having a train run on her is appropriate?

Who knows what the ruling will be, but I will say that rape is extremely difficult to prove so I'm never comfortable with people demonizing women who lose their court cases, just in case they were telling the truth and just couldn't prove it. I've done a lot of training for working with survivors of it and the conviction rates are pitiful. If this current accuser had been raped and didn't go to the police earlier, how could she prove she had been gang raped?

I hope Rose didn't do it and is found not guilty, but even so I think people should back off rather than lay into the accuser if that happens.

The comment was more about Roses sexual fantasies and not really about if he raped her or not. People are sayimg regardless of rape Rose is a piece of trash.

I also wouldn't base my thoughts on if he raped her or not on there past sexual history. But more so on the details she laid out.

Everything u said is true. But someone who truly was raped doesnt send a text asking why Rose also didn't have sex with her friend. The evidence was overwhelming against Doe. The jury only deliberated for 3 hrs. Doe is an obviously troubled individual. Glad for Rose

The sad thing about this is many people, especially activists in this area, will say this is why victims are discouraged from coming forward with these types of accusations, despite there being zero physical evidence and, in fact, overwhelming evidence that there was no rape in this case. People should be held accountable on both sides of this thing. If all of the text messages had been disclosed much earlier, this case doesn't even make it this far. It was a bad attempt at getting a lot of money.

I am more disgusted by Trump and how he has treated women and continue to treat women (even has video and audio evidence). To me, thats more disgusting that this man can rape and abuse women for decades, but still run for president and receive millions of endorsements. Oh at the same time, he's allowed to unearth all the racism and bigotry thats been burred for years. But people turn a blind eye.

Well, I'm sure she'll get some satisfaction in doing damage to him regardless of whether she got paid: 1) interrupting his prep for a very important contract year; 2) further soiling an already soiled rep; 3) putting his private business on blast; 4) probably harming any remote possibility of future endorsements; 5) not to mention whatever he had to spend on his legal defense.

And I hope Rose is motivated to reevaluate his social life and what he nearly lost due to his lifestyle.

Like I said previously, regarding Rose all I care about is him helping us win this season.
