Knicks · O.T. Judge to rule on mistrial for Rose case on Tuesday (page 5)
Stick to the facts first....leave the assumptions and bias views alone. Treat everybody equal....Remember innocent before proven guilty? That actually applies to everybody, not just a select few.
Life is full of success and learning lessons.....Lets hope Rose learned his lesson from this.....and can now focus on basketball.

guilty or innocent, in the grand scheme of things, he still did something with someone, mistreatment notwithstanding, that is kind of disgusting. he's not a member of isis, he's not donald trump, but this sort of event still impugns his character and smarts, and the people he surrounds himself with.

Prior to these accusations the only things in his past that I am aware of were questions about S.A. T. scores and a picture where he threw a gang sign as a joke when he was 18. Only God can judge a mans heart.....I look at knick players like family members. I lean more on the positive optimistic side. If he was with the bulls, then i mightve been a little harder on him. Im not saying your right or wrong.....just showing how its ok to have a different perspective on the same situation. The only thing i dont like is when people arent treated equal due to unconscious biases.

yes unconscious bias is a genuine psychological phenomenon everyone has to deal with-- unless they are in denial or simply refuse to explore themselves. i would like to give any knick the benefit of the doubt as though they were someone i know personally, but if that person behaves badly or stupidly or in a way that gives me the creeps, i can't look past that. i am not in the "hate the sin, love the sinner" mold. jr smith, marbury, melo until recently, kidd with the dwi in the hamptons, now rose. and of course there's the lowlife twins thomas and dolan.

Ummmm, the trial is not over. If Rose ends up losing, I am afraid the ramifications would be much more significant that just paying her $21m and focusing on basketball.

Sprewell wasn't exactly walking around with a halo over his head, but we sure did love him when he helped take us to the NBA finals.
Outside of work people are free to do what they want. Alot of you act like you all live on a religious compound and thus is your only outlet to the outside world.
Rose is pretty much a scumbag.... but we live in America. Before we condemn anone they have rights. Facts need to be gathered. You can't pick and chose when who gets that. The fact is this woman is a piece of shit her self and is lying about this case. Rose is definitely still a scumbag regardless.
As far as basketball. We root and cheer for a team. If Rose has on the jersey, I'm cheering for the jersey. He can be a scumbag and still work. As long as his legal problems get sorted out and he stays out of the garbage can, all will be good.

Rose is not guilty by being a part of specific culture which considered this kind of sex absolutely normal and acceptable.
It is pretty mainstream and no one should be prosecuted for acting in the framework of cultural traits.
The woman is also not a creature from Mars. She acts as normal cultural stereotype for people like her.
Law is actually exist to nullify the effects of this subcultures on larger community and keep it contained inside the groups who accept it.
So I can see no issue there.

This was not the POTUS, or a married middle aged man. This was a 24 year jock who had consensual sex with some chick who ended up going after him for a money grab, and rather than just pay her out he had his day in court. Zero perspective. I am not even defending him or his actions.. its his business and since this has not happened since I would suspect he's learned some lessons in partner selection. Glad this is almost over so we can move along to basketball

Rose doesn't show inwardness??? Are you for real? Contrition??? What exactly would that look like to you, Father dk7th?
Doe: Derrick, I've decided two years later, that you and your boys raped me. $21.5 million please. I think that's only one year's gross salary for you, if my lawyers are informing me correctly.
Rose: You have got to be outside your mind lady.
Doe: Maybe just a simple act of sorrow would suffice.
Rose: What the eff are you talking about?
Doe: I want you to kneel and tell me how heartfully sorry you are...in public, possibly in front of TMZ reporters...
Rose: Turning inwardly now, I've decided you are crazyazz, batshit gold digger and I advise you and your lawyers to go confess yourself into a hole. How's that?
Doe: I'd be willing to settle for half...with a written confession mailed to my family's church...
Rose: "click"
But the defense also scored points, with Rose’s attorney Mark Baute getting the accuser to admit that her last drink on the night of the 26th was around 11 p.m. The admission makes it hard to believe she was too intoxicated to consent to sex with Rose and two of his friends four hours later.“You were able to send and receive over 20 texts with Ryan Allen and Derrick Rose … the entire time you were blacked out, right,” Baute asked, referring to Rose’s friend.
Baute said the accuser sent the messages with perfect punctuation and use of slang words despite her claim that she was wasted from a night of drinking.

Absoultely. Beyond bogus, to the point where I'm actually annoyed about it. One of the biggest bunch of BS chumped up accusations in recent memory. Can't understand how this case wasn't thrown out, honestly.

after the facts came out I certainly agree. This chick tried to extort money from Rose. That said, he willingly manipulated the situation and even though he knew something was off. I mean he took a condom from the "scene" and you don';t do that unless you know you and your boys just did something fucking stupid
SupremeCommander wrote:the question is what is he supposed to do? Think about it... he's 24. He had nasty sex (but consensual) with this woman. 2 years later she hits him a civil suit to grab money. At this point his options are pay her to go away, or fight her in court. While his behavior may be unsavory to some why would he admit guilt and pay her? Why wouldn't he have his day in court to fight this? Yes its a distraction, and yes not having Rose for this part of the preseason sucks, but again.. what's the alternative? I mean one can always say Rose shouldn't have put himself in that position in the first place... but is even that realistic? Again... from Rose's POV it was consensual and intent was pretty transparent based on the texts of what was going to happen. At that point at 24 years old is envisioning this scenario realistic?blkexec wrote:I find it hallarious that the fans who dogged rose from the very beginning, wothout any facts.....zero.....calling him names and everything else are now hiding in the closet, with their heads between their legs. I disagree with one point, that this is the most important time. Its a short term setback at best. If this happened in April during a playoff push or god forbid the post season that would be 10000x worse. At end of the day Rose misses a handful of preseason games. I just think this looks and sounds much worse than it is.
