Knicks · Watch Melo on Offense... (page 2)

IMO, Melo was awful last night. I stopped watching after the 3rd quarter. He turns the ball over because he is lackadaisical with it. He cant make a layup and he is STAGNANT off the ball AND with the ball.

Why is it NY has had 5 coaches in his time here and the offense still looks the same? And for that matter the defense too?

Harden had 15 assists!!! along with 30 points. MDA must have loved it.

This "Blend" of the Hornacek offense with the Triangle is looking more like Old slow Triangle. I hope this isn't Phil's influence. We were told that Hornacek was free to run his stuff but it doesn't look like it.

Melo isn't looking like Olympic Melo at all in this game. It's still early but I'm gonna be watching to see what develops from here on.

Agree with all points. Hopefully Jeff has or gets autonomy.

No such animal for a coach. executives get that. A Knicks coach will teach the triangle. I find it odd that the two main lovers of Phil and his beloved triangle are now having concerns that most knew when Phil was hired. Systems don't win titles, great players do. The best of the best always win.

I've explained this many times before. It's not about loving Phil or the Triangle! If someone says something that isn't based in FACT then I post to clarify. There was a lot of misinformation about the Triangle, so I posted a lot to try and correct the issue.

When it comes to the new team the roster has a lot of new players and I like a lot of the talent. But they still have to play together and Hornacek has to be allowed to run what he feels is best for these players. That is what we expected. I'm not seeing enough of the things I know he likes to run. I don't know why that is but I hope it's not interference from Phil. Only time will tell what the truth is.

Jeff spoke about a bunch of things he wanted to do with KP and really we haven't seen much of anything. Jeff talked about running his early offense stuff more than Triangle sets and looking for to more PnR, Drive n Kick and more 3's. We haven't seen enough of that. That's all we're saying.

KP had 4 shots last night. They are not getting into sets early. Maybe they need more time. I like what I saw in a few vidoes of the Phoenix Suns sets when JH was coach. Have we seen the same sets here?

thats why woodson did what he did, and melo was 3rd in MVP voting..It's like trying to turn a running QB into a pocket passer. Tough to change players who have thrive in their careers playing a certain way

that's what would do too

I was hoping we'd see a lot more of that stuff he did in PHX. We haven't seen it and overall the offense looks to be meandering rather than quick hitting and direct as Hornacek's teams normally play. His teams normally score VERY EARLY in the shot clock. This team is not doing that enough. I have to believe that Hornacek will default back to what he really believes in at some point.
