Knicks · Watch Melo on Offense... (page 1)

Andrew @ 11/2/2016 9:29 PM
What ive seen so far is he trots down the court and goes to the post one the side the ball is and just stays there. Never moves from that spot throughout the entire possession. Not sure how you can run an offense that way.

thats why woodson did what he did, and melo was 3rd in MVP voting..It's like trying to turn a running QB into a pocket passer. Tough to change players who have thrive in their careers playing a certain way

meloshouldgo @ 11/2/2016 9:46 PM
Well I am not seeing much of any movement from our starters. Rose runs and sometimes Noah trails him. Others streams around unless they have the ball.

agreed andrew. The worst thing is that its affecting KP. Hornacek needs to be more forceful. Iso melo always kills us. He has shown the ability to move the ball but he only does it in small spurts

Hornacek doesn't strike me as a slam your fist type of coach.

It's a bad start.

crzymdups @ 11/2/2016 9:54 PM
There's almost zero movement away from the ball in the offense right now. I have no idea what the plan is.

But I agree Melo has looked particularly bad. He's 32... might be trying to conserve energy?

Anyway, it's not a good look.

That Melo was what 4-5 years ago? This is old man Melo.

I think a problem we have and will continue to have is that Melo still thinks he's 28 and a top 3 MVP candidate.

He was never known for his IQ.

Is there a slower small forward in the nba right now?

I was hoping for MORE of the free flowing offense Hornacek is known for and less of the slow developing Triangle stuff. Hornacek talked about more PnR and more looks for KP!!!

This "Blend" of the Hornacek offense with the Triangle is looking more like Old slow Triangle. I hope this isn't Phil's influence. We were told that Hornacek was free to run his stuff but it doesn't look like it.

Melo isn't looking like Olympic Melo at all in this game. It's still early but I'm gonna be watching to see what develops from here on.

im sure it will get better. However this is why i said its probably gonna be a up and down year. Team will take a while to gel and we do have injury concerns. I still say 42 wins but if things go bad we have 3 draft picks

That is a concern. Possibly because it is where he is used to going in the Triangle? Do we even know where he is suppose to be in this offense? Or what offense we are running? We can single out KP or Lee as well. They both come down and run to the corner. May be what they are running. It does seem like there is very little movement without the ball from all the players in this offense. However, still think a bigger concern is our Defense or lack there of.

Nix is concerned... I think I should stop watching this...
Scary stuff indeed...

Agree with all points. Hopefully Jeff has or gets autonomy.

No such animal for a coach. executives get that. A Knicks coach will teach the triangle. I find it odd that the two main lovers of Phil and his beloved triangle are now having concerns that most knew when Phil was hired. Systems don't win titles, great players do. The best of the best always win.

Melt has been very luke warn at best regarding his comments on hornacek- same with the rest of the team. Doesn't seem to have their respect yet.
yellowboy90 @ 11/3/2016 5:52 AM
Why run with Rose when he never pass the ball? He really does need to move more though.
gunsnewing @ 11/3/2016 7:10 AM
Melt. New one but I like it!
GoNyGoNyGo @ 11/3/2016 7:41 AM
IMO, Melo was awful last night. I stopped watching after the 3rd quarter. He turns the ball over because he is lackadaisical with it. He cant make a layup and he is STAGNANT off the ball AND with the ball.

Why is it NY has had 5 coaches in his time here and the offense still looks the same? And for that matter the defense too?

Harden had 15 assists!!! along with 30 points. MDA must have loved it.
