Knicks · ROSE-- usage 27.2%, BPM -4.1, 16.3 fga = knicks failure (page 4)

jrodmc @ 11/8/2016 10:32 AM
A thread repeatedly touting 2 WHOLE SHOT ATTEMPTS as the difference between team player and selfish douche - thread failure.

Posting that the opposing team's player's selfishness and ZERO ASSISTS is justified because he's YOUNG AND ATHLETIC - thread failure.

Consistently circle jerking one's self into oblivion by disguising deranged Melo hate as KP6 love? - thread failure.

Never mentioning or understanding that Melo for the first time in his entire tenure here is now facing one on one defensive coverage - thread failure.

here's the box score with advanced stats from last night-- looks like my prescription for rose is holding up:

http://www.basketball-reference.com/boxs...

rose's usage was just below the 25% upper limit at 24.7%. meanwhile his assist rate was a pretty good 27.9% for a ratio of under 1----> .88:1

meantime, due to limited minutes-- a very good idea-- he shot the ball 10 times.

ongoing issue, his isolation streak notwithstanding, is the non-dad melo:

22 shots is too many shots for 41%fga and 48.1%TS, and his usage was 28.1% to 8.9% assist rate for an absurd and inexcusable 3.5:1.

did he help the team? this game he did, but these are fool's gold statlines that do not translate to playoff wins. the time is now to develop the right habits.

jrodmc @ 11/10/2016 9:50 AM
Right, because singlehandedly bringing the team back by scoring 14 straight points is no prescription for winning in the playoffs.
He hit's jumper after jumper against single coverage, which, in case you haven't realized, doesn't require assists.

Are you so effing blinded by hate that you can't see this?

Welpee @ 11/10/2016 9:58 AM
This is like saying every night it rains the Knicks win, therefore the rain is causing the victories. Zero cause and affect.

Keep in mind, this is the same dude who crucified Jennings. Guess his play had nothing to do with the win either?

jrodmc @ 11/10/2016 10:54 AM
It's going to get to the point where only a few of the faithful Melohate/Rosehate groupies are going to be looking at his threads. Oh well.
dk7th @ 11/12/2016 8:09 AM
stats from last night's BOSTON game shows rose with usage above 25% at 26.3%. this too-high amount of ball handling is mitigated somewhat by a healthy assist rate of 38.4% for an ok ratio of .68:1, which is mediocre point guard territory along the lines of ray felton and the like. what kills his effectiveness is 3 for ten shooting. my take is that it's 50-50 when he has a usage of over 25% but with a higher assist rate, and 100% fail when his usage is both above 25% AND above his assist rate. so far that makes 8 games out of 8 games where these statistical parameters hold up, making it pretty reliable.

some may object that this is a question of equating correlation with causation-- however, when one sets up a prescription that is meant to have *predictive power*, as is the case here, then one has to consider that there is more causation to this than mere correlation. rose may have merely been part of the problem last night correlatively, but he surely didn't help the knicks either.

All season?????

We only played 6 games...smh

Well, we're 11% through the season and he's at below zero again.

I know that's still a small sample but his sample from the past 4 years is not good either. If this was just an unusual 9 game slump, I'd cut him more slack.

dk7th @ 11/13/2016 10:33 AM
here are the box score advanced stats for last night's TORONTO game-- rose's usage was, once again, above the 25% upper limit i prescribed for him, and at 26.1% combined with his assist rate of a paltry of 16.0% which, pretty much assures a loss every time. additionally he took 20 shots, well above the upper limit of 14 shots, which also pretty much assures a loss every time:

http://www.basketball-reference.com/boxs...

you can point to any other factors you want, including poor defense, but then rose, as the point guard is also primarily responsible here too.

that's nine games out of nine and counting.... rose has to tighten up his game or the knicks are doomed.

Spent as much time as DK has on useless correlations why Knicks are losing. But probably not.

1. Attendance- When total attendance has a last digit that is even....we lose.
2. Temp- We have won every game when the days high was over 50.
3. Jeremy lin's hair. Pony tail we win, no tail we lose.
4. Trump- Winless once elected.

Too bad we can't consider stupid things like +/- differential for bench, turnover ratios, foul shot disparity, shooting %, total point allowed. Nah...just target one players stats. Cuz there's no way you can come up with some obacure stat that one can use to blame that player for losing. Let me try, KP'S assists/30ft attempts. Lee's shot attempts and shooting percentage, Noah's point totals, Melo's 3pt shooting percentage/attempts, Main bench LT scoring more than 2 bucketa, Jennings shooting %.

Agree with Fishmike...it's more fun not to ignore him.

you don't have the mental capacity to comprehend what i am sharing, so you resort to insults just like most internet jackasses. rose basically has sucked so far this season. that is the truth. every win and every loss has mirrored his hewing to or breaking from the parameters i set forth.

glad you find my posts entertaining. i enjoy making your blood pressure rise to dangerous levels, champ. yours and the other low-lifes on my ignore list. in fact i am assigning you as my official liaison. report back to me what they are saying.

Bahahaha...you mean your pressure? Had you at "LIN". Btw, like the "I set forth". First report, they are still all laughing.

Rose shot 50% last night. Gets to basket at will. Had 8,11 and averaging close to 5 dimes. He will start converting some of his missed layups and start making short floaters to raise his totals. You will blow a vein when he does and need to vent with another made up statistic why he is not good. Now back to my great Sunday. Go Knicks

knickstorrents @ 11/13/2016 5:56 PM
Rose has low BBIQ and I think he would be a good bench/energy guy on a playoff team. Arkrud is right, he's a 1 year rental, and I hope we're just pumping his value to dump him at the trade deadline. I actually really like Ron Baker's play - the kid is fearless and a winner.

I like Melo's play, he is playing in control for the most part. Still doesn't really look for others, but it is what it is. I also like Brandon Jennings play so far.

Rose is just a flawed player at this point. Are we trying to get a high draft pick this year? That's one good reason to play him I guess.
