But just love him as a sparkplug with the second unit, as well as in a 2-PG unit.

Now, what price could the Knicks pay Jennings and also fill another PG spot?

Yeah i'm with you on that. Everyone is thinking about the money saved on letting Rose go for Jennings and how he's bringing that spark but everyone needs to remember what we'd be losing from that second unit if we didn't have Jennings coming in with them. It would be a huge loss.

The long term benefits are huge however, as soon as Roses speed goes so does his game. Thus why I don't want him back on a contract really, or maybe a two year type thing to get him one last big contract. Let's say we draft a Pg this year, automatically he gets more minutes meaning better development, you could slot him in with that Kp led second unit. I just don't see where we go with Rose, he's gonna want to get paid, he has to know based on injury history alone this may be his last chance to secure a max. I don't want to be the team who gives it to him. Reminiscent of Amare. I'd rather Jennings passing and ball movement to advance with Kristaps and to develop a young Pg. Long run it makes more sense.

If we aren't interested in signing Rose long-term at that point, i would be fine running with Jennings and signing Darron Collison. I bet you can get them both for 10m each per year. 20m committed to a quality PG duo that compliment each other pretty well isn't that much. Otherwise, we aren't looking at a ton of options in my opinion. The free agent PG pool looks nice, but it will be tough to land any of the good names.

That isn't moving the team forward though. I am keeping on eye on Jrue Holiday.

Seriously guys. Everytime one of these two has a decent game, everybody talking extensions, one bad game and they are straight to the wolves. Rose should start because ahh he is a much better player obviously. Yeah he had a shocker the other night partly due to playing to many minutes with BJ where he watches from the corner. Benching him in the 4th was stupid and almost cost the game. How could jennings start he cannot actually defend decent pg's. His D is good off the bench being pesky but he cant stay with anyone and gets stupid fouls.

Not sure how you can just make a blanket statement. Jennings has shown to pressure the ball better, make steals. His PnR defense is nothing to write home about. Rose is a better physical defender and also plays against the front line guys.

Don't forget that B.Jennings has also had major knee surgery as well, obviously not as serious as Rose cause i'm pretty sure that Rose has had surgery on both knees but Jennings is also a injury concern. If Rose can make through this season without any knee issues or any serious knee issues then it could mean that the surgeries were a success and he could be good but that's obviously something you can't predict. I also understand that giving Rose a big contract in money and years would be scary to think about but if he is back it could end up worth it for us and he's only 27 years old. I'm not making any serious judgments on what i want the Knicks to do until much later in the season.

It is just an eye-test thing i guess. Jennings is not perfect, but Rose seems to have more defensive lapses and gives less effort.

Its probably just not understanding what good defense is.

Insulting someone's knowledge is not a good look. If you knew my basketball background, you would think differently.

After todays game, this thread is slowly dwindle away. Rose is the starter and will be the starter, unless he's traded. Jennings is a fire cracker and sometimes his energy back fires.

Both are just fine in their roles as long as they are both here, no question.

B.Jennings needs to be back with us whether that be as our backup PG/6th man or the starter but i'd rather him being exactly what he is now for us and then either re-sign Rose or sign one of the other bigger name free agent PG's this next offseason. C.Paul has supposedly already said he wants a 5 year max offer this offseason so if not him then my obvious #1 target is S.Curry but i think we all know he isn't leaving GSW and the only other one i'd even think about over Rose would be J.Holiday who's great when he's healthy but he's injured quite a bit.

Rose is getting stronger and better every game. He's getting to the line which is something that we need. He's a clutch player and a winner. We haven't had many of those in recent years.

dude is finally showing up, looks like his legs are getting under him and shooting is coming back.

Wish he could pass and run a team. Misses SOOOOOooo many wide open guys and complicates things by throwing bad passes or just throwing away passes.

And I like him for the Knicks in a weird sort of way. Just wish he was more of a complete player. No idea how a top level athlete can go so many years without learning his position, but I guess we are seeing what elite athleticism does for you. Hoping Jeff Hornacek can mold this dude.

Well said. Also, the jump pass is super annoying and not very effective. But I think even his passing, seeing teammates is improving. He had an amazing behind the back pass to Melo for a wide open three last night. It is a lot of fun to watch this team play with adequate or better point guards.

I guess every team wishes they could have a CP3 type of guy and I truly wonder what a Chris Paul could do for Melo and KP and Noah.

Making statements as if they are fact when its just your opinion us not a good look. Especially when you're statement is wrong. Also your response was insulting my intelligence so dont even come at me like that.
