This team is trending downwards, I would put everyone on block outside of Porzingis, O'quinn, Hernamongez. Those are the best contracts on the team everyone else is crap. I am tired of the losing, this franchise is a complete an utter embarrassment. I thought we were better of tanking this season but I say there is a better than 50% chance the Knicks miss the playoffs and end up in the lottery anyway. There is something fundamentally wrong here, this team is talented enough to make the playoffs in a pathetic East but our team is comprised of me first, lazy players. Porzingis has been poisoned by Melo and is turning into a taller version. Salvage him before its to late. Tank the next few seasons away so maybe,just maybe we can get a franchise star guard in here.
Nah. This team has a lot going for it. I would add Lance Stephenson, who played so well last year for Memphis, and drop NDour or Sasha. I think he would give us a big boost right about now.

I thought I might be the only who thinks Melo is more detriment to KP. I noticed how KP 7'3 is shooting like a crappy volume shooter. At 7'3 there is no way in hell KP should be shooting less than 50% from the floor. It's ridiculous that he is. Gobert is shooting close to 70% from the floor take a note from him.
Boy oh boy is it beginning to look like we just can't win. I don't know, maybe it is time to drop off for a season to ensure a chance at having a future incredible duo. Maybe that isn't the best route, can we get Paul? If we can't I don't believe we should accept mediocrity. Just keep playing hard on both ends and we have to try to turn this around, no point in a knee jerk reaction yet on a few losses but we have to be open to all ideas for our future I guess.

In games where Melo didn't play he shoots 35%. He shot 42% from the field last year. Gobert is awesome but he and KP have very different offensive games.

he recently had surgery for his groin.. hes pretty much out for a LONG LONG time
The quickness of going into panic mode is kind of funny. Yes they've looked horrible recently but I don't think it's reason to go overboard. Things can turn around just as quickly as they went bad. As JVG often says it's about makes and misses. The Knicks have just gone thru a spell of games where the ball just didn't drop for them. I mean shots that we KNOW they normally make. It's not more complicated than that.

I can live with missed shots as a team will have good and bad shooting nights over the course of a season. What I can't live with are the extended lapses in terms of defense and effort. It's inexcusable when professional athletes can't bother to play as hard as they can every second they're on the court. Do you think Popovich would put up with the "sleepwalking" routine we see so frequently from the Knicks? He might sit his starters but I've never seen him tolerate a lack of effort.

A shame. His defensive versatility would be a great addition. Courtney Lee has been solid, but the man can only do so much. It's not fair to ask to D up the league top point guards and get stops on a consistent basis. Then we get compromised on the wings.
Half the Eastern conference is at or under .500 and you want to blow the roster up? SMH...We hold a playoff spot in December for the first time in a long time and you want to blow it up? So, if Melo doesn't get thrown out or if Rose scores at the end f the 4th Q against Atlanta, do you still feel the same? Yep the defensive effort is terrible. When your leaders dont play hard how do you think the rest of the team is going to act. The Knicks defense is not going to get better these guys dont want to play defense. Look at Porzingus he is getting lazy defensively as well.

I totally disagree with you on this KP's main advantage is his height and when he doesn't use it to the max which mean higher percentages near the basket. His game is vastly superior to Gobert but he is not utilizing his height to the max. Matter of fact he is making himself smaller. Even with Melo his numbers should be much more efficient.
When a team doesn't strive for efficiency then they are going through the motions.
Yeah, sell high. 2 weeks ago would have been perfect but we should still try now to cut our losses.
Not jumping the gun, but at the end of the year, unless we make a deep run into the playoffs, I would be all for seeing what we could get for Melo. I just don't like the inconsistent effort from the team. Melo is supposed to be the leader and more often than not his effort sucks. This has been going on way too long and the only common denominator left over from these last few years is Melo.

If a 42% volume shooter is the main player than the team is in trouble. This should be his last year here at worst 1 and 1/2 year with Melo.
I just don't think Melo has the mental fortitude to lead a team. If things are going well, shots are dropping no problem, but when things are breaking down, he wants to be the hero too many times without being able to back it up and then his effort lapses.
The team looks better without Melo, and I can almost guarantee I'm gonna get the "Knicks are 0-13 without him", but we finally have a crew that can contend with the Hawks and Rockets and take it to the brink without him. His lack of effort on D seems to influence others as we have at least looked better on D when Melo sits. The prospect of moving Melo to a contender like the Celtics where he would be happy, in return for Jaylen Brown and a Nets pick (or something of that nature) is seriously tempting. Its about timing and balance.
Melo window is closing but KP windows is not even started.
There is nothing Melo can pass to KP that worth passing over.
NO winning legacy, no leadership, no consistency, no attitude.
There is nothing left in NY for Melo.
He stick around only because he afraid to move on.
I can understand this.
At least we all are his hostages... this must feel empowering for him.

Can you explain why they haven't won the last 14 times he hasn't played? Are you looking at the value they would get if he waived his ntc clause? If so can you explain why he would waive his ntc?
