Is that he is out here proclaiming Knicks should improve there defense or that Hornacek should call people out on it more.. then he gives up 28 needless points to Dennis Schroeder. Like how does that work?

All in the same week that he went awol with no excuse. Passing the buck onto the coach when you don't show up and when you do you don't play decent d isn't cool. Jeff isn't Thibs and he isn't going to become something he is not. Play the game the right way and show up on game days. That is all he needs to do.
he puts his head down and runs straight to the basket most of the times, has a much turnovers as assists
who making a playoff push needs a back up point guard ? think boston might give us their two second rounders for him or back to chicago for a second rounder or two? he would be close to his mama

Exactly. That is the bare minimum of any professional player. I can't count how many times he got lost on screens, asleep, or just simply got blown past by Schroeder, while at the same time turning the ball over like a maniac. His offensive production has done little minimize his porous defensive display. At the rate he is playing he can't be a Knick next year.

I'll take anything for him right now.
The good news is that he probably wont be here much longer
Rose played horribly defensively, yes..But the problem is also team defense as well...Good PG like Rose and Schroeder can get by their men but it's what happens at the second layer...No PG and stay in front of Rose and Schroeder...You always other teams contest Rose at the rim and our team contest no one...So it's defensive schemes as well...

true but rose is not really a traditional point guard and i think thats what we need. I doubt he is here next year anyway

I'm sorry what makes Rose a good pg?

You might have miss the year he won league MVP where he averaged close to 8 assist per game..Clearly he is trying to figure out how to fit in...I get that people are impatient when it come to anyone on the Knicks..But when he figures out where players like to get the ball on his next team, he will be good...he looks like shet now but he will get better...
Honestly the only thing that ticks me off are veterans who think the are privileged. Nothing like a hungry young player trying to make it.
Rose said we are a super team remember?
Watching Schroder score over and over was so freakin painful. The kid is good but NOT THAT GOOD. Rose has been in the league long enough not to need a coach to crack the whip on him just to defend. F'n PRIDE should kick in at some point when a kid is lighting you up!!!
Ever since trash talking was banned players defense has gotten worse. Something about trash talking that makes players play both ends of the floor that much harder. They need to be challenged because every thing is guaranteed.
The 180 is complete! I am changing my view. He needs to go. If we can get anything for him I am all for it. Watching him is like watching a really good athlete from another sport play basketball. Just no sense of what a defense is doing or where his team mates are. Cant take it when he drives into 3 guys under the hole without kicking it out to the open man. And seeing him jump every time before he passes is so frustrating. The guy is so talented but just doesnt have a feel for basic bball concepts.

I didn't miss it or the years after it. He isn't the same player and have not adapted his game to fit his current abilities. His lack of vision and inability to remove the jump pass from his game kills His offensive worth. On top of that his D is among the league worst for guards and has never been good.
I never expected Rose to be efficient scorer but I do expect him to be an efficient qb of the offense.

He definitely is a scoring PG and not your classic orchestrator...I think the expectations are a bit high thinking an NBA PG can say in front of other quick guys given the new rules...We see Rose get to the rim at will..Only difference is that he weaves thru other front lines..Our front line/rim protector is non existent..
My pause on labeling Rose is because the overall defense is bad...So I'm not sure how to compare it to other teams PG given the defensive schemes..It's like many her saying Melo can't win, how do we know if the rest of the team is bad...
I still think its a process with him..I think it's crazy to write him off one way or the other...The physical tools are coming back and he is just learning to adjust his game...
But If Melo is gone there is no reason to resign him...

Rose has always been a bad defender. All I want from rose is Reggie Jackson(last year)/Shroeder type level of guard play offensively.

That's why I've grown tired of their media talk. Its just noise with no substance. Makes them look more phony.
Fact is, this team would look at least mediocre-to-decent if players simply put more energy and effort on D. I'm not talking about rotations and strategies perse, but simply effort.
Melo can rant all he wants about the loss to Philly, but did he even try hard to defend the play? He didn't even get his hands up, and that has been a trend with him. Same with Rose. Rose talks on the media about more defensive effort, then plays like he can't give crap about it.
This is why I'm sold on Melo and Rose being gone. I hope their lack of professionalism there isn't picked up by the many talented young players we have.
