i cant watch another melo game!!
I still think he ends up in LA. Clippers cave and deal JJ for a 1st round pick to send to ny along with their 2021 pick, rivers, and Brice Johnson. That's a solid return for melo.

terrible return for melo from the clips.
regarding the Cavs - Melo is better than Love, but it is what it is.

We would get more in trade for Love than Melo
LOL - Cavs got out in front of that one

2 1st Rd picks and 2 young players is far from a terrible return. I'm trying to be realistic about it because I'm not sure the love rumor is true.

The question then becomes: Is it worth moving Melo if we can still tank with him?
I'm sure Lebron probably prefers Melo as his stretch 4 than Love, especially in a Finals match up against GST.
However, I don't see the Cavs making this move. They won a championship with the team they had. Trading Love for Melo would be a big risk. But Lebron could argue that they won't be champs much longer if they keep the same team intact. They won't get past Golden State this year with the same group. Even the East playoffs is not a given Finals appearance.
For us though, is there any real longterm benefit of a KP/Love/Rose pairing? KP moves to 5 in that scenario in most cases. Love is good value for Melo though. You're getting an all-star for someone who is 4 years older and isn't on the all-star team.

Of course because you are still getting some value for him and changing the style of play. You get to test out different combinations and what life will be like without Melo in the future. It gives us a head start to learning what that looks like so the offseason can be used to make the right moves.
Love had like 40pts and 12rebs tonight, beating the Wizards in Washington in OT, after Bron fouled out. Including an incredible full court pass to Lebron with like 1.6 seconds left that led to a game-tying 3 as time expired
I don't see the Cavs trading Love, even if Bron wants it.
LOL Lebron calls Isola "trash"

"totally baseless" - Cavs GM re: trade report

I don't think it's that. He's mad it's making trouble for his team, because Love may start pouting again.

Ha ha, normally I'd be disappointed that its not true, but anytime a player publicly calls Isola trash, I'm happy!
Not that I'm a fan of Love, but I would do the trade simply because I believe you could flip Love for a better return later than Melo would get you. He's younger, in his prime, is locked up for two more years after this one and doesn't have a no trade clause.
Love is a stretch 5.
Unless we are moving KP to the 5, Love to knicks makes little sense.
Love to Boston makes little sense because he and Horford are sort of in the same position.
I'd like to see Melo moved. Love is an asset that can be moved.
Isola gets his information usually from Melo's crew. Someone in Melo's camp gave him that story. Isola had Melo re-signing with the Knicks days before, almost a week before it actually went down.
He's a stir the pot writer for sure, trashy maybe, but he has sources in Melo's crew for sure. If he got this it is probably from someone in Melo's crew. Many agenda's in play here. Lebron's crew. Melo's crew. Phil/NY front office. Cleveland's front office. That's like 4 sources of information. Doesn't mean Isola is lieing. However it could also be false information from Melo's crew.

Love plays the 4 spot just fine for the world championship Cleveland Cavs. I'm not sure why it'd be such a stretch to see him play it for the foreseeable future, especially if the intent is to re-route him to another team for picks.
That being said, I doubt the move happens if Griff is calling the shots for the Cavs. Been taking a closer look at Love and not only does he look fine from a health standpoint, he's playing some really good basketball. But if he became a viable option, I'd re-route him to the Pelicans for their draft pick. That way, the Cavs keep him away from a rival and we could still retrieve an excellent first round pick.
