The Warriors didn't improve through the draft until they groomed Bob Myers, under Jerry West.
The Spurs had RC Buford groomed and established.
NBA teams that win let basketball people do their jobs without interference.
The base problem is Jackson is 70 years old, with no previous GM experience, and no clear line of succession or front office development of someone to be groomed for the long term, and he has an extensive legacy to protect.
It's not just picks, it's the kind of stability and continuity in place before you make those picks.
Sacramento has had a ton of high picks, and go nowhere, in part because they are very unstable up top.
For the Knicks to improve, Jackson needs to go and Dolan needs a groomed front office mind, hopefully a young one, who is left alone to do his job.

This is not at all true. The Knicks have had Mills and Houston around for years. I think John Gabriel is still with the front office too. Phil isn't off on some island alone and he isn't without top notch consultation. The NBA golden boys of just a few years ago, now are unemployed disgraces. The Knicks are in good hands.
Screw the playoffs. I want the Knicks to draft a fantastic player this year.

YUP! Plus Warkentien won Exec of the year! There is a good group of experienced men behind Phil. Let's see what they get done at the Deadline and this summer.
