Knicks · Jennings cut (page 6)

This is not a concern NOW. We just need to draft a good wing in the lottery. That is really the next step. That and get something good for Melo who hasnt attracted a FA better than Lopez, Noah, Lee.. etc.. all the guys people complain about.crzymdups wrote:newyorker4ever wrote:crzymdups wrote:newyorker4ever wrote:crzymdups wrote:This is yet another reason why free agents would not want to sign here. Courtney LeeOnly Lee could be said to have not lost value for himself since he signed here. Maybe Rolo, but Phil traded him.
If you think agents don't look at this history and see a red flag for their player signing here, you are kidding yourself.
I don't think A.Afflalo, Rolo, D.Williams for sure or B.Jennings had more value before they came here than they had when they left. So you can have the J.Noah but he's retiring after his 4 years with us so his value when he leaves won't matter anyway. Rolo and D.Williams actually both gained more when with us so they left being looked at as better players.
You're always trying to find the bad in anything Knicks and trying to make it look worse then it really is. I definitely think you're like F.Asshola or another new york media person cause all you ever talk about is the negative.....lol. You and a few others on here only talk about negatives.
Perhaps treated them dirty is a bad way to put it. But they don't gain value here.
I talk about positive things when there are positive things to talk about. This season has made me question investing any of my time following this team. If y'all don't get what a mess this is and how it is seen throughout the league I don't know what to tell you.
I've been a huge fan of Willy and KP. I said early in the year Willy should get more time, then I said he should be starting. I'm happy they signed Randle.
I'm looking at this rationally - no good agent is going to look at NY and think it's a good thing to send their players here. The best two signings Phil made - Rolo came because he wanted to be in the same town as his brother and we traded him. Courtney Lee came because he was pals with Noah and wanted to play for a contender, he was been quoted as saying the team "is beyond pep talks now" and he just takes it one day at a time. Rumors were Phil tried to trade him to the Clippers before the trade deadline. Noah has removed all Knicks imagery from his social media accounts, like Jennings did, so I imagine they've told him they're shutting him down for the year and trying to trade him or buy him out or something.
We'll see this summer, but it's one reason I advocated for a Rubio trade. I don't think any decent agent will send their guy here. Almost every team in the league has cap space, many have more than us... players who come here do not improve their value and they get moved within a year of signing. We won't see guys come here this summer.
Every single Knicks fan understands how bad this team is and how much worse the Phil/Rosen/Melo thing and the Oakley fiasco has made this organization so i promise you you're not the only one who understands this.
I know most fans understand it. But it sure seems like a few who post here refuse to admit it.
Yeah i'll give you that one cause i does seem like certain posters just don't get it but i'm pretty sure the majority of us understand just how much trouble this team is in and how much worse the Rosen?phil/Melo and Oakley fiasco's have made it even worse.
The problem with the Knicks is every year there is new stuff to make them look bad, particularly under Phil.
2014-15 - Team starts 9-42, trades Shump and JR for nothing, Phil throws them under the bus on the way out the door
2015-16 - Fisher goes AWOL, gets in altercation with Matt Barnes, rumors about cheating on other players' gfs, gets fired, Rambis boondoggles them into 32 wins
2016-17 - Rose goes AWOL, Phil criticizes Melo, team falls off a cliff, Dolan/Oakley incident causes Adam Silver to intervene, etc
I really hoped Phil could bring some stability and leadership... it hasn't seemed that way yet.
Also, I haven't seen many complain about CLee - he's Phil's best FA move at this point.
Now we're hearing promises from Charley Rosen of Phil having another big FA summer in mind. Hey, maybe Jrue Holiday hates playing with Cousins and wants to come to NY with his brother. If Phil can pull that one off, he's a genius. Draft well. Try to install a fricking culture of accountability. If Melo doesn't play D and doesn't pass? Bench him. That's called accountability. Otherwise the inmates are running the asylum and Phil's tweets are so much dust in the wind.

I saw something on twitter that the Wizards placed a call to Jennings' agent already.
BTW. Great foresight, by the senile bastard, on Noah. Wasted $17 million. But yeah Noah is a great leader and triangle guy. GTFOH!! As soon as Noah filled out his application and checked the box for "Good Triangle Guy" Phil shot his load and signed him to 4 years.
crzymdups wrote:in what world is that realistic? Melo will quit on the team and get "his boys" to mail it in also. You know that isnt an option. He's got to go. What happened when MDA told him to run an offense that produces nothing but points? What happened when Phil said "there is still a level Melo can go to?"fishmike wrote:newyorker4ever wrote:nonsense... all that can be forgotten in a year and if the Knicks look better it will be. The only thing is to rebuild around him and if he doesnt like it he can waive that NTC. Otherwise you start him, let him do his thing.

This is really not as bad as you're trying to make it seem. There's still plenty of good things Phil can do this summer to build on the good things about this team going forward.

As for charley ROsen, his words are not all Phil's. He does not sit on Phil's lap with a hand up his ass. Other than a few game where his energy was great, what else has he done???
Who's words do these sound like? Does Rosen attend Knick practices daily?
SASHA VUJACIC works harder during practice than anybody in the NBA. He can sit for two weeks, then come into the game and knock down his first trey. While he’s not an extraordinary defender, he’s one of those scratch-and-bump annoying ones. Vujacic is mostly incapable of creating his own shots, but would be a key weapon if the Knicks would ever learn how the run the triangle—which is something that Vujacic has already mastered.
