Derrick Williams was headed to China. Noah just got his nest egg contract to be a guidance counselor for our youth movement. Jennings got an opportunity to play for his favorite team and now has an opportunity to go to the playoffs. Lee got paid and a starting spot.

I don't understand the sarcasm. We haven't made a free agent splash because nobody wants to be here. That was before Phil. Phil realized that the first year when he had to make up signings like Derrick Williams and Affalo. We're never going to make a splash unless we start winning. We need to build with youth. All signs point to that. We just signed Randle back. There is a new commitment to youth.
Anyway, there won't be a grand free agent haul. We only have 25 mill to spend. All the top free agents will get 30 million per. Nobody out there is with that aside from Gordon Hayward... I bet we sit on that money and use it on undrafted rookies or more under 25 players

He'd install a winning and productive atmosphere and be able to convince guys to play in the Triangle and compete. He's been a massive failure at free agency. He's been good at the draft and signing younger FA from Europe and stuff.

The Knicks finally have a chance to GROW THEIR OWN STARS!!! We have our picks going forward and that hasn't happened in a long time. We're off to a good start in the rebuild with KP and Willy. I talk about positive things when there are positive things to talk about. This season has made me question investing any of my time following this team. If y'all don't get what a mess this is and how it is seen throughout the league I don't know what to tell you.
I've been a huge fan of Willy and KP. I said early in the year Willy should get more time, then I said he should be starting. I'm happy they signed Randle.
I'm looking at this rationally - no good agent is going to look at NY and think it's a good thing to send their players here. The best two signings Phil made - Rolo came because he wanted to be in the same town as his brother and we traded him. Courtney Lee came because he was pals with Noah and wanted to play for a contender, he was been quoted as saying the team "is beyond pep talks now" and he just takes it one day at a time. Rumors were Phil tried to trade him to the Clippers before the trade deadline. Noah has removed all Knicks imagery from his social media accounts, like Jennings did, so I imagine they've told him they're shutting him down for the year and trying to trade him or buy him out or something.
We'll see this summer, but it's one reason I advocated for a Rubio trade. I don't think any decent agent will send their guy here. Almost every team in the league has cap space, many have more than us... players who come here do not improve their value and they get moved within a year of signing. We won't see guys come here this summer.
Every single Knicks fan understands how bad this team is and how much worse the Phil/Rosen/Melo thing and the Oakley fiasco has made this organization so i promise you you're not the only one who understands this.
I know most fans understand it. But it sure seems like a few who post here refuse to admit it.
I think they tried to half ass it... but it needs to be burned down. This wont stop until the coach has some young guys he can mold and we build a culture from the ground up. You cant import it.
The only way this thing changes is if we add a bigtime player in this draft and we have a real core of guys to build around. Otherwise its Melo's team and more of the same.
This could take many years. So be it.
BJ played with heart. But he dribbled too much (not triangle) and inconsistent sh0t (not Hornacek)
I hope fans continue to cheer him when he's in the garden

I don't think A.Afflalo, Rolo, D.Williams for sure or B.Jennings had more value before they came here than they had when they left. So you can have the J.Noah but he's retiring after his 4 years with us so his value when he leaves won't matter anyway. Rolo and D.Williams actually both gained more when with us so they left being looked at as better players.
You're always trying to find the bad in anything Knicks and trying to make it look worse then it really is. I definitely think you're like F.Asshola or another new york media person cause all you ever talk about is the negative.....lol. You and a few others on here only talk about negatives.

Affalo got a very nice contract in SAC. Derrick Williams got paid the same by miami, then cut. RoPez got moved to a big city, is starting on a better team, for the same money. Jennings nobody wanted, he got a decent wage and promise for minutes. Rose was certain to miss some games due to injury and he would be first guard off the bench. A good gig. Players need opportunity. He got a huge one.

What has Phil done to these players? Treated them dirty? How? Arron Afflalo thinks he's an elite shooting guard. Robin Lopez found another phase of his game as a Knick. Derrick Williams was headed to China. Noah just got his nest egg contract to be a guidance counselor for our youth movement. Jennings got an opportunity to play for his favorite team and now has an opportunity to go to the playoffs. Lee got paid and a starting spot.
Please tell me again how we treated them dirty. Show me where did we touch them?

I don't understand the sarcasm. We haven't made a free agent splash because nobody wants to be here. That was before Phil. Phil realized that the first year when he had to make up signings like Derrick Williams and Affalo. We're never going to make a splash unless we start winning. We need to build with youth. All signs point to that. We just signed Randle back. There is a new commitment to youth.
Anyway, there won't be a grand free agent haul. We only have 25 mill to spend. All the top free agents will get 30 million per. Nobody out there is with that aside from Gordon Hayward... I bet we sit on that money and use it on undrafted rookies or more under 25 players
Phil was supposed to change this. That was supposedly the big reason to bring him in. He'd install a winning and productive atmosphere and be able to convince guys to play in the Triangle and compete. He's been a massive failure at free agency. He's been good at the draft and signing younger FA from Europe and stuff.
What I'm saying is that the way Phil has handled the free agents he has signed is not good. The guys who come here don't develop roles and don't really improve their value. Rolo did improve... but he came here to be near his brother - traded less than a year after he signed. Courtney Lee has been solid here, but he's already been on the trading block and he is miserable.
Players in the league talk. It's not a good move for a player's career to come to the NYK at this point. Won't even get into the Triangle being a difficult system to learn and the way players around the league feel about the Oakley incident. Seriously, this is a mess.

Yep. But your trying to convert those who don't share your view. Some of us just see it as taking longer. There are some legit reasons for it doing so. Some on phil, some not.
But if your not patient and want instant gratification, then you must be very disappointed.

this... Did I think Rose/Noah/BJ/Lee + Melo could work? Make us a playoff squad? Sure. My arguement to those swearing it wasnt was simply OK... but none of these are mistakes that set us back very long. I havent changed my view at all. Bummer it didnt work, now on to the draft.

So i just saw that K.Lowry is gonna miss the rest of the season so if B.Jennings ends up there then maybe our reason for cutting him was cause some inside talking was going on and it has already been pre-determined that he's gonna sign with them....am i crazy to think there could be something to it if he does end up there??
Or maybe D.Rose will be cut so they can have a shot at getting him.

nonsense... all that can be forgotten in a year and if the Knicks look better it will be. Like that crazy stuff with Mark Jackson and the Warriors, or the Cav's owner writing that letter torching Lebron, I mean we can do this all day. Sports has like a 1 year history for BS and its over. This is not a concern NOW. We just need to draft a good wing in the lottery. That is really the next step. That and get something good for Melo who hasnt attracted a FA better than Lopez, Noah, Lee.. etc.. all the guys people complain about.
