I'd actually be in favor of this. Should have done it when he went AWOL. Or you know, traded him for Rubio

dude you're hanging onto this rubio thing and it's a little ridiculous. minnesota backed out of the deal - just because they were talking about it earlier in the week, doesn't mean minnesota was ever ready to pull the trigger on the trade. knicks agreed to rose/rubio swap, minnesota said no. end of story.
There's no point in keeping Rose. He doesn't help the team in any way.
they should release Rose. Have fun with that rebuild Melo
I would at least wait until after Rose couldn't sign with anyone else for a playoff run. Unless he feels that keeping Rose on the team potentially hurts our chances to tank for the rest of the season? And he also wants to truly see what Randle and Baker can provide before going into the offseason? It would not go well if they benched Rose with his impending free agency.

will melo still wonder what direction the team is going?

I don't want to reward a guy that gave us shit. Still I think this guys would probably just sign with Minnesota.... I think being close to family is the most important thing to him. I don't think he cares about winning

i think he'd go back to chicago, if they'd let him, but i totally agree.. doesn't seem like he really enjoys being away from chicago. i'd have no issue releasing him. it is possible the team wants to sign and trade in the offseason, but i wouldn't bank on it.

Isola feeds your darkside. Isola is awful. But if you want to hate phil, or anyone else running the team which Isola will do, then he is your guy!!!
Don't worry, we all know Phil is responsible for everything. We just also know that if he leaves, there is no guarantee all will be good going forward.
Dolan said he will honor his deal, and Phil has not given any indication he is leaving. So with all our picks and cap space, and some really good Yoots, the future is not terrible.
as for this years team, it phuching sux.
Nalod don't need Isola, or Crzymdups to tell me, I can read the W/L record.

Same here. I would just bench his ass.

my only hope with Rose is that they cut him on Mar 2

Letting him sit and not let him go to a contender is not a good gig. I'd say if we are not going to play him then release him. Jeez, we let him and Jennings go? Wow. Start Baker and Let Randle get some minutes.
Another crazy season!!! Yeesh!

Look on the non-Rubio deal in terms of salary and us insisting on another asset back makes sense- they wanted to drop rubio's salary, and if you want to shed salary the team usually has to give up something. If we end up with rivers, then it will make even more sense.
Do it. Go in full rebuild mode, piss Melo off and make him want to waive his NTC. I have no clue why he even wants to stay here now other than the fact that he enjoys being in New York, off the court. Granted, that's a big reason but it's doing zero for his career.

and im in favor or phil playing hardball to get a 2nd asset. point is, phil agreed to the one for one swap and minnesota backed out of the deal. it is hardly phil's fault for *correctly* negotiating for more assets when we would've been taking on the salary.

Spite (towards him and the TWolves) makes me want to keep him, but I think having out-of-their-depth rookies (Baker and Randle) manning the PG spot will improve our tank chances.
Rose genuinely thinks he's worth a max- that was one of the things he cried about last year with the Bulls- he genuinely thinks he's in line for a big pay day. inreality I see him going the way of Rondo.
Rose's stint here has just been bizarre- from the day he got here, he's essentially been ignored- Phil never bothered trying to motivate him, the press never bothered attacking him, fans never bothered booing or attacking him, he was just left alone, even when he quit on the team and ran home to his mom- no disciplinary action really. Just odd.

But Melo has to realize that Rose doesn't help us win games, right? It's a rebuild but doesn't make us a worse team.

I was holding out some hope we could re-visit the Rubio/Rose deal after the season in a sign/trade deal. With the assumption that Minny might be more inclined to do the deal if they know they are signing Rose and for what amount.
If we waive him that option (dealing for Rubio) goes out the window but we could always maybe move a C-Lee for Rubio if Minny is a willing partner.

wait till you see Baker/Randle for 48 minute a game
