Can our starting backcourt next year possibly be Rose and Baker? They looked great together in the 2nd quarter: Rose slashing and getting to the rim at will; Baker making all the right plays and a bull on defense.

The impatience is what annoys me. We've got some good kids but they need time to play thru mistakes and learn.

Yes they'll make mistakes. I have no issues with this. I can see us losing games like this and soil be happy with the progress. We need to build this team up. Just move the garbage out first.

There are very few guards in the league who could slash and get to the rim like him. That skill would be impossible to replace. Him playing the 2 alleviates his lack of court vision and let's him do what he does best--as long as we have a lead guard who can run the show and play strong defense.
Another thing I noticed from Baker in this game is that he was in attack mode at the point. Horny said in the pregame he wants him to be more aggressive offensively when out there. I was really surprised how he was able to put pressure on the defense, while still making all the right plays and playing killer D on Curry. He really impressed me in the 2nd quarter--changed the whole game.
Also, KP became the focal point of the offense in the 2nd and excelled--even after Melo came back in the game.

This type of thinking had defined NY basketball for too long. Keep harping on the "one dkill" a "star" player. Now every one else has to provide double effort so these one dimensional players can make more money and deliver less every day.

There are guards in this draft that do it all. Athletic, penetration, passing, shooting and defense!!!
