No. Let him expire then move on
There are very few guards in the league who could slash and get to the rim like him. That skill would be impossible to replace. Him playing the 2 alleviates his lack of court vision and let's him do what he does best--as long as we have a lead guard who can run the show and play strong defense.
This type of thinking had defined NY basketball for too long. Keep harping on the "one dkill" a "star" player. Now every one else has to provide double effort so these one dimensional players can make more money and deliver less every day.
There are guards in this draft that do it all. Athletic, penetration, passing, shooting and defense!!!
i been sayin keep D,Rose and im still screaming it!!

As a 6th man, sure, as a starting PG, no way.

he isnt the solution either
I am happy some are starting to see why I'm open to keeping Rose if he stays on same salary and trade Melo. We need some more athleticism and a catch and shoot shooter at 3 who defends well. It can work.
Rose does what the modern NBA requires - shots at the basket and to push the ball
We need better athleticism 3 point shooting and defense around KP, Rose etc.
Rose is also super competitive which I like.

In pretty much every advanced stat out there, it shows we are a better team with him off the floor. I know he is flashy and can score points in a hurry and take over a game for stretches, but his defense and attitude tell us he's just not a winning player. In order to have him as your starting PG, you need a SG playing alongside him who is an elite defender at either guard position, shooter, and can essentially run the offense. If you had 2012 Jason Kidd on the team, it could work, otherwise i don't see it.
