Jusus Nurkic just had a 28 point 20 rebound 8 assist 2 steal 6 block game. Our boy KP could not to that.

I actually don't believe that! It's possible KP will have performances like that in his career. Besides which why are you trashing KP just cuz some other player had a big game? Where the hell does that matter to whether this team will eventually be built into a winner? It's really meaningless to our long term future.
joec32033@ 3/10/2017 9:34 PM
KP (21) Nov. 21, 2015. Rookie year.
24 pts, 14 rbs. 7 blks 2 ast .
Nurkic (23) 3 yrs in league.
28 pts 20 rbs, 8ast. 2 stl 6 blk.
Yup. No potential there.
CrushAlot@ 3/10/2017 9:41 PM
I thought this was going to be about how 7 out of 15 of the guys on the team were undrafted and 5 are rookies.

To keep perspective - Denver gave up Nurkic AND a #1 pick to get Mason Plumlee. Sometimes shit happens.

exactly. and also would the OP take nurkic over kp? i doubt it.
So one great game makes him a better prospect now? KP is now held to the standards of a 20/20 big? I didn't know we wanted a Dwight Howard. I thought people realized the comparison for KP has always been Pau Gasol or Dirk Nowitzki?
Tell me did Pau Gasol or Dirk have 28/20/8 games in their 2nd year in the league?
Guess Dallas should have dumped Dirk for two first rounders - Briggs logic.
nyknickzingis@ 3/11/2017 7:54 AM
Dirk Nowitzki at 21 yrs old - 17.5 ppg, (37.9 percent from 3), 6.5 rpg 0.6 bpg 2.5 apg Pau Gasol at 21 yrs old - 17.6 ppg (20% from 3 point) 8.9 rpg 2.1 bpg, 2,7 apg Kristaps Porzingis at 21 yrs old - 18.1 ppg (37.2 percent from 3) 7,3 rpg 1.9 bpg 1.3 apg Andrea Bargnani at 21 yrs old - 11.6 ppg (37.3 percent from 3) .9 rpg 0.8 bpg 0.8 apg
(just for comparison for a player who was the downisde comparison for KP is Bargnani)
All draft express, NBA draft net and major scouting sites had KP comparison as Dirk/Pau upside. NOT Dwight Howard or a physical Center that can get you 20/20 games. Come on do we want the next DeAndre Jordan here? His downside was Bargnani.
Now lets see if he reaches the peak of Dirk (will be tough he needs to add more arc to his shot and improve his passing/vision). One thing for sure is that KP is on the right path statistically to become an all-star. He's in his 2nd season and at 21 as a 3rd option is playing with Melo/Rose and still puts up 18 points a night struggling with some injuries as well.
I don't think Dirk or Pau were playing with a top 30 scorer who played for scoring 25 a night like Melo or a point guard like Rose - at 21 years old. If I recall their teams, it looked like the #1 option in those seasons were Finley and Dirk was the #2 option. In Memphis Pau Gasol was the #1 option.
So I'd be interested to see what KP's numbers would be like if he didn't have to play with Melo and Rose, sort of like situations Pau and Dirk were at 21 years old. He wouldn't have won more games, but I think his numbers would be better. Definitely scoring. The fact is even with Melo and Rose he's got a higher PPG average than Pau/Dirk at 21. He doesn't pass enough and he needs to work on that. He also needs to work on his post game and adding a little more arc on his shots.

I wonder if the Denver fan base are caking for their tan President to say something or for their owner to sell the team. I wonder if their media is trashing them everyday. Will ESPN do full segments on trashing them? Will they be the butt of all jokes?
EnySpree@ 3/11/2017 9:54 AM
Let's see what KP can do in his 3rd year... or when he turns 23. He's a baby.... a baby averaging 18pts 7 rebounds with 2 blocks a game. Too early to cry....
Knixkik@ 3/11/2017 11:40 AM
Absolutely ridiculous thread. It's scary how our fan base thinks sometimes.

Maybe they're really happy being stuck in mediocrity. I guess you just never know.

He did say something. Nuggets General Manager gave CSG an exclusive 12 minute interview to talk about the Mason Plumlee trade, what he means for the Nuggets and the thoughts process behind the trade. What does it mean going forward for the Nuggets? How will Plumlee fit on this Nuggets roster? (Connelly interview starts at the 5:30 mark of the podcast) http://www.denverstiffs.com/2017/2/14/14...

Ridiculous!!! Man fans are at an all time low. BRIGGS it's nice you pointed it out but what is your point?

There's no real point. No logical fan would ever compare nurkic and Porzingis in any way.

Counting stats can't just be seen in a vacuum.
Likelihood to be injured, competition, contract length, age, ability to overcome tradeoffs in one's individual game, roster fit, usage, stage of the season, opportunity based on injuries, etc, etc.
Byron Mullens could score 50 a game if you gave him enough shots.
Antwawn Jamison is the king of empty stats.
If you can't help a team win actual team basketball, who cares how much those individual stats pop out.
Jmpasq@ 3/11/2017 5:31 PM
Point is KP should rebound the ball better at 7' 3" and I agree, also I believe he is saying the Knicks are so screwed. We better finish in the top 8 if we dont we are in serious trouble we will be forced to tank for the next 2 or 3 seasons

We need to stop looking at this as a process that has to turn around immediately. This should be a long term process. KP is 21 and whoever we draft is likely to be really young as well. This is the very beginning of the process and there's literally no rush.

Totally agree, and the thing I'm worried about KP is he's putting up nice numbers on a sucky team.
