I've been saying the last couple games how bad KP's D has been lately.

Yep, cant guard quick or stretch 4's. Dont know what Knicks will do if they plan on keeping Willy and Kp on the floor at the same time. So far Willy seems like a better fit at his position. Something they will have to address even if they get rid of Melo. Thing is, he doesnt punish those smaller match ups at offensive end.

KP will be fine. He's still developing his full game but you can see that he has no real limitations. I think he's standing up too tall on D. He does that when he's not paying attention. He's got to get lower so that he can move laterally. You guys can see the flaws but from what I see he's got some very fixable technical issues. Like learning just how much space to give on D so that he can close on the shot or cut off the penetration. This is a process and you've NEVER seen a 7-3 Stretch 4 like KP so there is no real blueprint.

No one has seen a stretch 4 that is 7'3 for a reason. Tough for a 7'3 to defend quicker players. Will be an issue if he is not a 5.

Yes that's true. I think they will have to eventually get to the point where they can have KP punish teams with him posting 4's and if he's at the 5 taking them on the perimeter. I do believe KP can learn to defend smaller players better. It's a process. He's never going to be able to play 4 all the time because there are so many really small and quick 4's. Eventually we all can expect that KP will be defending the 5 spot.

Who do you think is better at the 5? Willy or KP?

KP is good at the 5 as a rim protector. Willy is better in the post as a scorer and passer.

Just now KP got lower on D and was able to move with a guard and go up and block the shot. That's what I was talking about with him. SOmeone must have said something to KP about being too tall on D and not getting low enough.

Agree, he is a very good rim protector.

KP got a little stronger last summer and i'm hoping he'll get stronger this summer as well. Hopefully the Knicks will try to get him with a big man coach like Hakeem or McHale. I wonder if Dirks shooting coach is available?

QUALITY TANK GAME!!!
Another Lottery Ball gets it's WINGS!!!

Got the young guys more experience, except for the Sasha sighting which made no sense. Another Lottery Ball gets it's WINGS!!!

I wasn't able to watch the game today. Curious how Randle looked as far as defense and running the offense today? Nice having a consistent 3 point shooter for sure.

Playing KP and willy together with melo at the 3, is a sure way to tank..Kp can't guard any position other than a 5, melo cant guard sf, KOQ is a really lazy defender

They just might be doing that on purpose! I'm pretty sure Jeff knows which of his lineups is better or worse. He's an Analytics guy and loves looking at the numbers. My guess is the Knicks are quietly moving into Tank mode.

Melo phoned it in.

9 shots, 1 rebound and 0 defense.

The young guys barely played

Precisely. If you wanna TANK HARD play Rose and Melo just enough to make the losing happen. Throw in some bad lineups and there ya go.

Good tank game I guess

KP has 18 points 6 blocks 4 assists and 3 three pointers
Willy has double figures scoring
Randle makes 4 three pointers

And we lose

I can't see us falling below 6 in the draft but anywhere from 6-9 seems reality now

yellowboy90 @ 3/11/2017 11:27 PM
Why the neck is Sasha playing over Ron. I don't even think Ron has been that good but he needs minutes to see if he can turn it around to close the season. I guess Sasha scored some cool points and another contract for his kind words of Phil. Smh

I think you are right about him being back next year. He is the oldest player on the team. But I was pretty sure he would start getting rotation minutes after the triangle workshop and Rosen's article.

Interesting theory. Do you think Phil is going full Rambis on Melo like he did Afflalo? Does Rambis/Jeff move Melo to sixth man because it is better for his career? It would balance the line up but he isn't the one to go at this point.
