you never know.

I'm watching a PG that had an injury worse than Rose, one we wish we had - Shaun Livingston.

Maybe Rose gets fixed one more time, and stays healthy.

But don't see anyone giving him more than a single year.

Nalod @ 4/3/2017 9:16 AM
Livingston still had "Make good contracts" for most of his career.
I suppose we dodged a bullet with Rose. This injury only takes 2 months to come back from. He now did both knees.

Perhaps someone knows the answer: is this an injury that once operated on heals well and occurrence lessons in time?
My point is that it would be ignorant to write him off or be surprised if someone Pays up for him based on an assumption that this is a chronic condition. No doubt he is genetically predisposed to leg problems, but to what extent?

I hope he saved some money. My feeling is this guy has some high overhead,

i feel bad he got injured but im happy he wont be here. Never been a fan of his on or off the court

Yeah, I am somewhat relieved that this means we won't give him a big contract. I wonder if they'll still consider a short one?

no way. Lets he honest baker and randle run the offense better for cheaper. Plus we will most likely get a pg in the draft

This is the main point. Rose may still be an elite rim scorer, but he doesn't do anything to engage the team and lift the performance of the starting squad. Like Melo, his utility for us would be bench scoring. Baker has already demonstrated he's more effective at engaging the other players and creating some cohesion on offense.

I feel badly for DRose, as this is yet another setback in a career full of them. Sucks to get hurt and be considered damaged goods. But I am also thankful that we now clearly won't resign him. And with Rose gone, that should help pry Melo from his NTC.

So it's a net positive development for us.

goddamnit... this is going to negatively impact the tanking
Nalod @ 4/3/2017 10:17 AM
I think Rose should return to Chicago, play with Rondo.
Actually it would be good for him to play at home if he can put his ego in check.

Great trade. We essentially trade Lopez who played 82 for us on a cheap deal for Rose & Noah, both with recent injury history.

Who the hell could not have seen how that was going to end?

Surely not Phil Jackson.

Perfectly said.

It's been well documented.

Wow, that blows. I hope he recovers and I hope he saved his money. He sure as in hell isn't getting anymore big money after this season.

I probably would be depressed enough to just go ahead and retire?

He has a 14millon dollar contract with Adidas that I would imagine does not continue with him lounging. It runs until 2025.
Is it conditional to him being on an NBA roster? I don't know.

a nice rental that had some exciting momemnts. i feel sorry for the guy, he just cost himself millions of dollars with that injury. wish him luck (on another team)
knicks1248 @ 4/3/2017 7:36 PM
if he shot more 3's he wouldn't have to break his neck to get to the rim and put all that pressure on his knees

Hornacek asked him to shoot more 3s and he responded by refusing to shoot a single one.

We probably would have had more ping pong balls if he shot more 3s.

was that out of spite?

I mean that alone hit his value regardless of injury, no one wants a guard who can't, or better yet, won't shoot 3's
