I wouldn't because we have to many needs to address. If anything, I'd consider trading down for more picks.

How did our 4 rookies and 2nd season star look this season?

So you want to package our picks for vets?

Philly needs the best PG in the draft .. Ball or Fultz

Phoenix needs a double-double big-man out the draft

Lakers selected Phil Jackson's so-call best college player the last 2 years .. this year will be Magic Johnson call

I think the Celtics let Isiah Thomas walk if they can secure one of the top picks in this years draft. There is nothing appealing about locking down a 5"8' PG to a max deal that will end on his 34th birthday. Besides, the Celtics are no real contender; it's not like letting Isiah go would be reprehensible especially with Marcus Smart already in tow.

The net gain/loss would be zero if we swapped our 2018 pick for an additional 2017. Its a bit of a stretch but I was trying to brainstorm of ways to get a 2nd lottery pick in this year's draft since 2018 is unlikely to be as deep. But for those very same reasons, I doubt any other team would take the bait and forego their pick this year for our pick next....except maybe the Kings because they are monumentally stupid, lol.

But for the record, I do believe that quantity in this draft would supercede quality, which is exactly why I hope we get the no.1 overall pick. I think we'd have a legitimate opportunity to exchange that pick for both of the Kings' lottery picks....and possibly trade down further still. I'd probably go Jonathan Isaac and Frank Ntilikina with their picks and then look to trade Isaac's rights to the Nuggets for their lottery pick (hopefully Justin Jackson) and Juan Hernangomez. If we could walk away from this draft with Frank Ntilikina, Justin Jackson and Juan Hernangomez, I'd be extremely thrilled!

Dont get the love for Tatum, I think his ceiling is lower than 6 or 7 players at least

I see what you're saying, but what about when we suck next year. It will definitely handcuff us and I'm not sure if this organization has caught on to the concept of pick protection.

I will be so pissed if we dont get one of the top 7 picks, after that there is a huge drop off

I voted Josh Jackson. Hard to vote against him at #1. With that said, the Knicks could end up with the 3rd-5th pick... we are in fantastic position

If we finish 6th in the standing we can either get into the top 3 or we get 6th or worse. Only the first 3 positions are picked by lottery. So we will never get 4th or 5th slots. Look at the table on this link.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/NBA_draf...

The only way to get into the top 3 spots is x balls are 6 and 4-x are higher in the draw.[6,7,8,9], [6,6,7,9], [6,6,6,6] and so on.

For draws 2 and 3 repeat winners are ignored.

If three teams with worse picks than sixth get into the top 3 we would pick 9th.
In any case 2-5 of the teams ahead of us will finish ahead of us. So we will never get picks 4-5.

Basically it's 1,2,3,6,7,8,9.

Trade next years pick? No frickin you guys realize we are like 3 or 4 seasons away from being competitive. Even if we manage to get a player on the Curry, Westbrook, Harden level we still have an awful roster. We will be in the lottery the next 2 seasons min.
