So Melo is the reason Phil has lost over 160 games? Not Phil? What was Melo's record before Phil blew up the roster?
If Melo, in fact, encouraged others to resist the instructions of the coaching staff and the team missed the playoffs then its called insubordination and the NBA needs to investigate which games were affected and whether Anthony had a vested gambling interest in the Knicks losing. Furthermore the Players Association damned well better explain why players under contract are advertising their insubordination of coaches to America's and the world's youth. Is this what we are teaching our kids?
Who the F does Melo think he is?
Yeah, those are rational thoughts. Next thing your going to say is something crazier like, Jeremy Lin belongs in the league or donkeys fly.

Fits right in with Phil. Make choices, reset. Make bad choices, blame and reset. Fail miserably, blame, take credit for draft picks as a result of failing, reset.
BY removing the negative players, this team will be closer to winning that you think. Get a good pick or two. Sign some team playing FA's and go with it.
With KP, Will and this years pick, they have enough to start working. Additionally they have all their future picks.

You do realize we're about to rebuild....again right?? All of our starting positions won't be filled with PROFESSIONALLY proven basketball players right away cause we don't have the means to do that with just this off season alone. We're gonna be filling spots out with young players and rookies from the draft cause i don't know if you've been paying attention but with everything that's been going on with this team not many proven players will have us at the top of their list of free agent destinations. I think one of the best things that could happen to this team this off season would be getting Jrue Holiday to come here and to be able to re-sign his brother Justin as well but even that will be a long shot with all the crap that's going on with this team. We could then use our lottery pick on any other position instead of only going for a PG.
PG--Jrue Holiday
SG--C.Lee or F.Nitkilina or M.Monk
SF--L.Thomas, J.Holiday, draft pick
PF--KP, KOQ, draft pick
C--J.Noah, Willy, KP, KOQ
This is not a horrible lineup to start next season with. We'd be young besides J.Noah but Noah would be huge to have around for the young guys, his leadership and his energy are all things that will rub off on the young kids.

I'm much more worried about Phil signing D.Rose which sure as hell sounded like something he's thinking about doing and scares the crap out of me just what he'd be willing to pay him and how many years he'd sign him for. We are about to go full rebuild again so having Rose for a year or two wouldn't be a huge deal but just don't see it as a smart one which fits what Phil's done most of the time he's been here.

All the putting the blame on one guy has to stop because many people have a piece of the problem with this team. Phil, Dolan, Melo and Rose with the first 3 having most to do with it. Dolan for the people he hires and for the butting his nose into things he shouldn't of except since Phil's been here, Phil for sone bad contracts he gave out and for all the stupid shyt he's tweeted or said which should of been kept behind closed doors and Melo for his selfish play not buying into multiple systems from Dantoni's to Phil's and not being a good leader. Many people to blame for this team but those 3 all have the most of the blame on them.

Ok, is this an anxiety thing that you dream about? Wake up in the middle of the night having dreamed only 4 knicks can take the floor, and your in the stands in your underwear?
Guess what, your 100% correct, We have no bondafide starting quality SF that can step up and be effective at what is a premier position. For that matter, Clee is our best wing player!!!
So just one week post season and is this gonna freak you out? You gonna have hives? Develop shingles over this?
Or.....
Wait until finals is over. POst daily the teams playing and relate to what they have and they don't
Find out where we stand in the draft.
Draft a player.
Perhaps in that space we trade melo. Perhaps we don't.
Deal with Free agency. Naturally, nobody will want to play for knicks after the scandalous comments of the hidden personal secret that melo holds the ball, and KP is not ready to lead a franchise due to inability to play healthy and his penchant to take really long three pt shots! OMG!!!! Stay away from the toxic old man with no filter!!!!
Naturally, we have to stress about Derrick Rose for months!!!!
As for "Rebuilding....again", why call it "again', seems to me this team has not been settled since phil got here. We are slowly putting players in place, and some have not established.
Lance
KP
Willy
Kuz
Clee
Noah (I know)
Baker
Rose (Cheap deal)
Holiday
N'dour
KOQ
War PlumLord
Randle
Thats 12 that could return. Now, I doubt that whole ten sticks due to trade and what not, but of the 12 ten was not here the year before.
Ok, lets say 8 stick. Thats still returning players core. Is that a playoff core? Of course not.
Missing is any return of value for Melo and a draft pick.
For all we know, Clippers get knocked out in first round and they bring in Melo for Griff, maybe we trade him as well. Maybe we get Winslow from Miami. Maybe its a three way with Clipps and Miami.
100 scenarios. We'll know more in 2.5 months. Rest easy Briggs. Enjoy the good weather!

I know I said I think Phil is a walking contradiction and a terrible but he can't be that bad to resign Rose to any kind of deal. It is worrying that he insinuated that he need someone to carry the load because KP is not ready to carry a team but that guy can't be Rose.
However giving Baker more money that he's game or the market suggest he is worth is a bad look.

Yes. Phil spoke and told us what he is looking for. He wants Boris Diaw type players and not thru the roof long arm low IQ players. He wants passers and team players.
He told us this.
He told us lots of things.
Good read, not the usually "PHil Sucks" type article.
The future is unknown. Thats hard for some to reconcile.

Then why you advocating James Johnson and Christen Wood type players?
Johnson is proven. Livingston or Collison are proven. Wood is part of a rebuild at 6-11 with long arms
That's the best we can come up with on Woods? NDour's arms aren't long enough for you?
I don't even know what team Woods is on.

Your going to have to sell one of those picks if you plan on getting any above avg player
I don't disagree with you Briggs, however, no one on last year's team was any good. I don't think anyone deserves their rotation spot to be guaranteed. So, may as well open the spots up to competition and let these young guys and our three picks be able to compete for PT. I think that's healthier than everyone standing around and watching Rose drive or Melo shoot from the perimeter

Why? they will have cap space by not resigning Rose and trading Melo.

man I get that you are jaded and don't like Phil and direction of the team, but constantly poo-poo'ing EVERYTHING and just flat out making negative crap up all the time? Give it a rest man, it's getting tiresome.

This is a very valid point and my main issue with the team.
Some fans here are excited about the play of Baker and Ndour and Kuz... these are not guys who are built to play major minutes over 82 games, unless you want to win 15 games. They did okay when they weren't being scouted and teams were taking us lightly in April. But if these guys are scouted and the focus of opposing teams... it's going to be ugly.
I said before, but very few of these guys are even shooting .400 for the season. We are going to have a brutal year next year and KP is going to be suffocated.

I'm excited about some of those players and I don't expect them to play major starter minutes.
Lee, KP, Holiday, Willy, LT, their Adjusted FG% is fairly decent. We are getting a high pick.
And if the Knicks struggle for 1 more year, it'll be a boon for the long term IMHO, ie another high draft pick.
