Knicks · Knicks very interested in J J (page 1)

I would post the article I just read, but I'm on my phone..maybe somebody else can post it..He's looking at Noah type money..

A deal like that would kill the future, but since melo maybe gone, and Philly and the nets want to make jj a priority, I think there's little to no chance he's coming to ny. Let's not mention his total disappearing act in the playoffs AMD suspect D, this makes no sense

EnySpree @ 5/18/2017 1:39 PM
Just because some jerkoff wrote it doesn't mean it's happening. We already have Courtney Lee... 🤖
LivingLegend @ 5/18/2017 1:48 PM
That is just another dumb story - as E-Spree notes we already have JJ and his name is C-Lee.

We might take JJ to get rid of Melo (not saying that is a great idea) but we certainly don't covet JJ Reddick as a FA.

Knixkik @ 5/18/2017 2:05 PM
I think any interest to a Redick deal would be tied to Melo accepting a deal to LAC. Redick, Rivers, and a future pick for Melo is reasonable return.

With Chris Paul and Blake Griffin both headed for unrestricted free agency, J.J. Redick figures to be the most likely odd man out for the Los Angeles Clippers this summer.

Redick, himself a free-agent-to-be, is expected to seek a contract in the $18 million-$20 million range - an annual price tag the Clippers will reportedly be unwilling to meet - and three long-suffering teams with cap space to burn may jump into the mix.

The Philadelphia 76ers, Brooklyn Nets, and New York Knicks are all interested in pursuing the 32-year-old shooting guard in free agency, according to The Vertical's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Redick will be a "significant target" for the shooting-starved Sixers, Wojnarowski suggested on "The Vertical Podcast" with Chris Mannix on Wednesday, adding that Philadelphia would like to have him as a veteran mentor to its younger players.

"Brooklyn, the Knicks are (other) teams that have interest in Redick," Wojnarowski added. "We'll see how far they're willing to pay."

The Sixers have just $36 million in guaranteed salary on their books next season, and even if they pick up all of their options, they'll have over $50 million in cap room to play with. They're clearly intent on pivoting from their years-long rebuild, which finally started to bear fruit last season, toward something resembling competitiveness. They've already been tied to free-agent point guard Kyle Lowry.

The Nets and Knicks will both have max-level cap room as well, though the Knicks would eat into theirs significantly if they re-sign point guard Derrick Rose, as team president Phil Jackson has suggested they might.

Redick averaged 15 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 1.4 assists for the Clippers this past season, shooting 42.9 percent on a career-high six 3-point attempts per game.

wo jo also had a article on this..but like who the fck is giving him that kind of $$.

yellowboy90 @ 5/18/2017 5:06 PM
It makes zero sense for the Knicks to even entertain recruiting JJ to sign in free agency.
smackeddog @ 5/18/2017 6:15 PM
Lord please no! Besides which I'm sure he said he didn't want to come here when he was last coming up for free agency and there were rumors of a trade.

I was happy about the idea of landing him in a melo trade but only to move him on to another team for a first- maybe the Twolves or some such team

meloshouldgo @ 5/18/2017 6:24 PM
If our interest in JJ is a way to get rid of Melo via sign and trade then bring it ON. Otherwise not sure what it will do.
Vmart @ 5/18/2017 6:44 PM
It took me a while to figure out who JJ was. I was thinking Joe Johnson.
Sangfroid @ 5/18/2017 8:26 PM
We aren't looking at JJ as an elite scorer and defender. He's also 32, just like Melo. Signing a new contract with him looks irrational. Right now, We're looking at PGs in the draft. Have, Lee, Baker,Holiday and Randle. This making a trade to make a trade is going nowhere...

Where's the article that says Knicks very interested?

I know Wojo mentioned it on a podcast recently (lottery podcast?). I think the Nets and another team were mentioned as being interested as well.

This is the point where Wojo looses all respect.

I should clarify. He mentioned the Knicks as a team interested. He didn't say very interested.

why? I realize that WoJo can be wrong but he is considered the best at what he does so why would his sources stop with the knicks?

Yeah. This is the only credible scenario in which Redick is associated to the Knicks - as filler in a Melo deal.

You believe that Knicks have interest in JJ Redick? Does it pass the smell test?

I do not know. I hope not. I could see them thinking that we need a guard that will pull the trigger unlike Lee who doesn't like to shoot. Honestly, a move like this would not surprise me when I begin to look back at the other FA moves done in the past. It seems like they sometimes get to focus on how a player might fill one role while overlooking other warts to his game.

It's the Knicks. I was thinking Jerome James was coming out of retirement.

nyknickzingis @ 5/19/2017 7:16 AM
He's still a damn good shooter and we need one
We saw how good the offense looked when Sasha was making his shots.

But I don't like signing older players to massive contracts.

reasonable for who, redick is not a 20 point scorer, which is what phil wants in return, you need a go to scorer in the triangle, see kobe, see melo, see jordan
