All this Cant be put on Phil either.... we need tan players. Melo, Rose and KP were our top 3 guys.... is it a coincidence that all 3 guys have nothing but drama coming from their corners?

I don't think Phil will trade KP.
I definitely think he's looking out for KP, but KP and his handlers may have a different vision of how they want him to play.

If player development was his agent's real concern then why did Willy, Ron and Kuz even get so many chances? Willy was a top 5 rookie. Ron finished the season as a decent starter. We gave KP the ball plenty. Hard for a coach or GM to force Melo/Rose to pass the ball to KP. They are individual talents. Mega stars.

I will say I don't think his brother's problem is the Triangle. I think his brother's problem is the roster. He wants a younger roster built around KP. In Phil's press conference, it is clear Phil does not view KP as the player the team can rely on as the franchise player, yet.

good post. I think people are jumping to conclusions about trading KP....the possibility of that happening is slim. However i did mention a couple weeks back that KP made a mistake by skipping the meeting. He is still a kid and im sure he will learn from his mistake. I think his brother has become a bit of a pain the ass though

The Back article:

"PHil is a bad person".......That might be true. So he stabbed Bach in the back but he got another job because he is good.
Phil then went on to win a lot more after that. So basically do we want a nice person, or do we want to win?
If you can't trust your guys, it won't work. Did Longstreet do what Bach did? Is that what happens, we find a precedent for something and just assume it repeats?

Do you know how hard it was to get Jordan to get into the triangle, they succeeded and then to have a voice telling him otherwise? What if Bach was trying to angle for a head coaching job elsewhere and jordan being a pending free agent was trying to gain his trust, and get him to move? What if Bach's personal ambitions compromised the teams trust? I don't know, but there are always angles and assistants are very motivated to move up the ladder.

In the end some of you are missing something very very important here:

Phil sat down with Janis before he did not renew Longstreet's contract. Did they discuss this issue? Lets assume they did. Lets not pretend we know, but just assume. If so, he made Janis an insider, showed respect and maybe wanted input. Maybe Longstreet had advised KP to skip the meeting.
We can all agree that would have been bad advice no matter what. Maybe Janis was upset by that. But in the end Janis had a sit down with Phil and then this happened. There was something bad in the knicks coaching ranks and in the locker room. We don't know what that was do we?

Something tells me this was more than just petty jealousy by Phil. I know some of you want to believe it was just that.

If they intend to keep building this team around Rose, please, let KP walk. If it is KP, give him a point guard. Wanna trade Melo - fine, just don't extend Rose. The biggest idiot goes first, that's a rule.
Hope KP gets out of this place. Enjoy PJ's never ending childhood for two more years.

why do u think they are building around rose? ,its pretty much a given that Rose is gone and the knicks really have no intention of brining him back unless its on a cheap deal maybe
