http://www.ultimateknicks.com/outerlink....Curious firing, this is the guy with KP in Latvia....
But it was done after Phil met with Janis.
Either Phil is vicious or Trump like stupid, or LongStaff has been causing a riff. Maybe this guy is not on the same page and territorial?
Did Phil clear it with Janis? Not sure. Im sure Isola, Crush and 1248 gonna get a chubby with this, but before I get upset perhaps maybe this guy over stepped his boundary?
Curious firing. Staytuned.......

If its the former then that would validate the dysfunctional claims. But it makes way more sense for it to be the latter.

I disagree. I think it is the former.
Well as long as Rambis is still here everything will be okay.
lol...I said this weeks ago, and was told on here by some (fish, martin, nix) I didn't know what I was talking about.
KP asked Longstaff to come out there and train with him, the knicks didn't send him or approve that, That's the difference.

Why are you still making up stuff and reporting them as facts?
Cant remember the last time I heard about anyone in the Knicks organization being fired for causing a rift. The main reason being they know what will quickly follow. Looks more like a shot across the bow from Phil.
Or, Phil might be trying to do what he's been doing to Melo, make KP ask to be traded. I really hope thats not the case.
Edit: Yes I do remember, Anucha Brown Saunders, a decade ago.
Maybe Pablo getting the gig?
Y'all want him, but don't want him to replace the guy Isola said you should get upset about.
Win 32 games, then 31 and we crying about this guy? Rambis has been assistant on championship teams. Longstaff might be great, but he also has been under three head coach's (even rambis) and the resulting chaos remains. Its not on him of course, but he might be a part of it.
Or Phil is incompetent gangster who never succeeded.

and Mills, dont forget Mills. Glad they found the culprit.

Getting the gig? Bro you're trying to say the Knicks couldn't afford both coaches?
This is something "fishy" once again and I am actually getting tired of it and I am mostly Pro Phil.
Longstreet's contract wasn't renewed so he wasn't let go, just wasn't brought back. Still seems
rather fishy considering how well KP, Willy, even Baker have played at times since joining the league, and his apparent popularity with the players. Their inconsistency is more likely due to other factors, like all the craziness.
Meh! Just another thing for the Media to overhype. Not losing it over an Assistant Coaching change. Whatever the reason is this is not a big deal. KP is under contract and Phil is still the team President. Nothing serious has changed. Until one of those things changes it status quo.
May be dude just get better offer from other team...
NY media and NY fans are great scandal lovers... so they make it up form anything...

In reading this, I found it that the trust people have is very low. Everything good happened, like Willy, Baker, Lance and Gallo, must not relate to Phil and/or Rambis. It must be someone else. And everything bad must be Phil and/or Rambis. I mean, it is silly. Rambis has four champs. As a player he won 2, and as assistant coach won 2. He sucked because the Twolf he coached was really bad? or because of 9-21 when he was Knicks coach? I don't really get that. If win/loss can really reflect how good a coach is, then Mike Brown must be genius.

Look at GSW now.

No, Rambis is notorious for being a bad coach. Also A lot of players including KP seemed to really not like him. This was leaked by multiple sources as the last two seasons have happened.
With that said I don't know what this has to do with KP..... but its definitely more smoke pointing to internal problems. Usually when there is a player on your team you value highly you keep the assistant coach. You could argue that they had always intended to let his contract expire..... but the why sent him to Latvia of all places to train with KP? It doesn't add up......
Also thinking back I believe i he pulled something like this with Johnny Bach
http://forums.lakersground.net/togo/thre...
Maybe making room for Pablo.
And Phil might be sending Janis a message as well - "Don't want to play nice? - Pay for your own personal trainer."
Perfectly legitimate in both cases.

There isn't anyone gun ho over no damn baker but phil, galloway has already been traded, and lance is proven to have all sorts of injury issue's, no ones hiring rambis other than NBA TV and phil.

Stop bashing Rambis. Its been established that Rambis is being used as the excuse for some players unwilling to learn the triangle or participate in rigorous workout schedules.
As a point of comparison, what has Thibodeau won in Minnesota with full control and far more talent. Rambis accepted a kamikazee coaching job and has paid the price.
