A deal involving Melo (33) & O'Quinn (27)for Love (28) & Frye (34) works. If Lebron wants to make this happen he will. Phil will not take garbage for Melo..if that's the case then might as well keep him & turn him into the greatest 6th man ever.
Love understands the concepts of the triangle when Rambis coached him. Love's skills would be more utilized in our offense. Melo would be a beast in the block for the Cavs combined with Krie & Lebron.
Ain't gonna happen. Melo's value has plummeted.
Interesting post
I agree Melos value has plummeted. I also can imagine lebron is already thinking about how can the cavs close the gap w GS and there aren't a lot of options for them.
Of course he could just bring his skills to GS and add to his pile of titles

Wait, why would the Cavs want to do this, do they want to get worse

He would do it if they had the cap room
Can't see Cavs moving Love for Melo. Melo isn't going to give you the rebounding that Love does.

No matter what the Cavs can get a better return. Any trade where the Knicks get top 10 picks or All Stars is simply delusional. If he didnt have the no trade clause we would get something in return but with Melo controlling what happens we are getting nothing but garbage and picks in the twenties.
I have seen very few trades on this board that could actually happen. The Lakers for Deng and Clarkson would work. Thats the crap we are getting. Clarkson and Brewer and a pick would be more palatable and realistic

Even Lebron knows they can get a better return for Love
The Cavs need MORE 3 point shooting and rebounding, not less. Why would they want Melo??
Although, I think Melo next to LeBron would look different this trade doesn't help either team really.

Not saying the trade happens but Melo is actually a great 3 pt shooter.

I wouldn't say great but he has been a great catch and shoot 3pt shooter over the years. It would be similar to how JR went back to his old 3pt shooting numbers when he got to Cleveland because he shot more ast 3s.
Melo is the superior player to Love, but Love is younger. Melo really worked well in the Olympics with LeBron... I think a swap like this makes complete sense for both sides, especially if the Cavs want to resign LBJ.

It's a lateral trade. Sometimes that's what you need to do to make it all come together. Love did well for them so no knock to Love. The Cavs would do well if they had another guy that can move with the ball. The ball needs to be taken out of LeBron and Kyrie hands a little bit. It will take the load off them throughout the course of the season as playoffs.... they still need to configure other spots as well. They could use an enforcer and a legit back up point guard. I think thet sorely missed Dellevedova
Also... trading for Love doesn't mean we have to keep him. We could flip him to another team too for the packedge we all want... that means young players and draft picks.
Or we can fucking reload!!!! Love and KP at the 4-5... sign Jeff Teague, keep Lee... round out the roster with a nice trade. We could be back in the playoffs dude!

Actually Melo could bring the rebounding that Love brings. If he was on the Cavs playing mostly at the 4 position and Lebron told him that that's what he needed from him he could average double digit rebounds. Players change their games for the better of the team when they get on a team with Lebron. Melo averaged i think around 6 boards a game playing mostly SF and not focusing on rebounding.

Melo double digit rebounds?! I can't see that. He's going to double his rebounding because LeBron told him to?
