Knicks · If the Knicks can get Josh Jackson for KP--go for it (page 5)

They've both been in the league 2 seasons and KP is only a year older but he's a much, much better basketball player today than Booker.
OK...so this is why the #4 pick and Booker are part of the "proposed" trade right?

7-3 F who play 58 games have notTake Josh Jackson and a fair deal of what ever other assets are reasonable not to kill it. I like KP wanted to draft him but he is not Jackson can be. This is not the Ny Melos or the Ny KPs-- this is the Knicks. If we traded w the Celtics for 1 I would've taken Jackson and if available at 2 or 3 and we can get that pick-- then go for it-- you'll be glad you did
What can Jackson be bro? I will find you 5 Jacksons, find me one KP... 7'3 athletic big that can shoot the three bomb and dunk on you all in a matter of 15 seconds?
When you do that please don't include your guys you swear would be nice that are 2nd prospects.

Actually find me another Jackson in this draft. A guy who is 6-8 athletic who has elite athletiscm with great two way skill
Diva? Worse than KP who (though he overreacted) at least had reason to be frustrated
StarksEwing1 wrote:I gotta be honest I'm surprised some are swallowing this crap. Even if interest in KP did occur it was most likely coming from the Suns. I mean part of Phil's job is to listen when teams want to talk. It doesn't mean that Phil is intent on trading KP.
Because everything reported will have an anti Knicks anti Phil slant to it. And the ppl with agenda will eat it up to push the agenda.
What he's doing is to get so much that if a team is that dumb to give two young stars to the Knicks for Kris, he'll do it.
Otherwise he's giving KP some uneasy days and nights not knowing where he's heading.
KP may pretend it's all fine and dandy but I bet you he is sweating these days.
That's what happens, KP, when you skip exit meetings.
Don't get me wrong. If I have to send someone packing between Phil and KP/Melo, I send Phil.
But KP acted like a little brat. He skipped an exit meeting and disrespected his coaches, the same coaches who have all season been working with him to get him better. He didn't just disrespect Phil. He disrespected Hornachek, the assistants, many others.
He forgot that Phil is the one against popular belief at the time DRAFTED Kristaps. The boo birds. The hate towards Phil. Phil took it all in stride because he believed in KP's talent. Derek Fisher and Phil believed enough in him to start him right away.
Look KP is a major talent. I pray he isn't traded because he will be the best player in the deal even if we get back a few players. I just hope he realizes what a prick brat move he made. This is not how you deal with your coaches or your team. Phil Jackson and Hornachek are the one's that want hm working out with Dirk, that want him to become an all-star and succeed in this league. I can't think of too many other coaches in the league who were willing to give KP so much freedom early on like Hornachek did despite having Melo and Rose. Hornachek even called out his entire team at one point early in the season for not getting KP the ball. Horny is trying to help KP become a great player. KP needs to listen to Horny, because Horny has better shooting form than KP and KP shoots his 3 pointer too flat with not enough arc. Phil knmows about the importance of the post game for a guy like KP because he's seen great bigs like Pau Gasol and other he's have to face in the playoffs use that post game. KP will not a be a great player without a post game. Standong outside and shooting 3 pointers will not make you an all time great KP, It'll make you good, but not great. Phil wants you to become great. He knows you have great guard and shooting skill for a 7'3. He wants you inside because you can get better shots and you can mix what you do. You stupid dumb brother doesn't know the game the same way Phil and Horny do. Is KP really this stupid? Phil and Horny have played at the highest level or coached it as well. His brother is not at that level. He is great at organizing KP's day, developing him from the grass root level to now but this is the pro level. KP needs to listen to what Horny and Phil are trying to get him to work on and focus on.
Again, I love KP's talent but he's let me down with his prick move. I really hope this is a one off thing from him, because he's not a Kobe Bryant, Lebron James, Kevin Durant even level player to be pulling this stuff (and even some of them haven't done that stuff). He's not an all time great or someone with an established franchise player position on the team. Good on Phil to put the heat on him. I want Phil gone if he actually trades him for anything less than heist (Booker, 4th pick is a heist).

Tatum from Duke.
If his brother goes asks some smart basketball people and coaches, they will all tell him because KP you did not get stronger in the gym and you do not have a couple of go to moves in the post. Teams will know how to contain you if you sit behind the 3 point line. You need to mix it up.
To his credit he is saying he is working in the gym this summer. But I don't care about the fancy dribbles. The Steph Curry like point skills. I want to see him work on his Dirk like qualities. Get your butt in the middle of the court at the top of the key and get a few go to moves. Get inside the post and get some moves there. Work on your 3 ball arc, because your arc is too flat and it makes it inconsistent.

That was the whole trade though. How is #4 and a crappy player worth KP?

Yeah no way this deal was ever "discussed." Phoenix probably got the sense that it would take at least this package to have a chance at KP, and turned it into a rumor, which came from a Phoenix guy.

Why do you think it's somehow standard to make a big jump from year 1 to 2?
Have some players done it? Sure. But I can name many players off the top of my head who did it later.

Chriss is a solid player who they like a lot. He has the potential to be a 18 pt, 9 rb, 1.5 block type player. They have high expectations for him, so I doubt they were going to jump at the chance to trade him. I agree that KP is better than Chriss. It is tossup as to whether KP is better than Chriss and whoever they get at #4. If we made that trade, I would be fine with because I like Chriss to.

Not just in the draft, Im talking the NBA period. There are alot of Jacksons. Find me other KP.
What is a winning talent or winning performance?
A player that will hustle back on defense to provide a stop when the team need a defensive stop.
Plus score when the team need points on the board.
Plus rebound when the team need a rebound to give opponent one shot on offense.
Plus pick n screen for a teammate when a teammate need open space.
Plus catch n pass the ball quick to the open man when the defense are doubling up.
Plus sacrifice their body to get an offensive-foul.
These few basic things mention above it use to take 3 or more years in college to learn and fulfill.
For some unknown reason KP does none of the above.
A 7.3 height player shooting a 3 ball shot to start the game plus rarely shoot from inside 15 feet from basket throughout the game.
Stephen Curry insane shooting from the 3 ball line throughout the first 3 quarters of the game could drive a coach crazy .. Starks in the FNALS!
Ex-Players like Kerr and Horry shot the 3 when their team needed a 3 in crunch-time.
I guess you know my opinion on a trade for a raw 2-way Josh Jackson for KP ......

Everyone's behavior here turns bad eventually. I wonder why?
KP is a squeaky clean and near perfect prospect for this franchise and already the fans and lunatic gm are entertaining notions of moving on. Yeah, trade KP. Just great. He's the problem here. Sure he is.
+1
He blew off the exit interview and has refused to communicate with the Knicks throughout the off season. This is not "squeaky clean". Anybody else on the team did this and that player would be crucified on this board. Rose left supposedly for family reasons and he was destroyed KP leaves and refuses to communicate because WAA WAA he does not like what the Knicks are doing and people are making excuses to explain his behavior.
I will agree his missing the interview is not enough by itself to consider trading him. However did you see the possible return: Devin Booker and the # 4 pick. As I said in my earlier post I am not hankering to trade him but given the possible return the fact that he is acting like a big old baby WAA, WAA it makes a trade easier to accept

Rose left during the season, right before a game, and nobody had any idea where he was or what he was doing. Let me know when KP does that and then we can compare.
Rose left because there was some crisis in his family. According to reports the crisis was so severe that he contemplated and had to be talked out of retiring. While this does not justify his leaving it is certainly understandable.
What was KP's reason: WAA,WAA I don't like what's going on with the Knicks WAA,WAA.
So Let me get this straight: Rose left because of a crisis in his family and he actually apologized for what he did and he is brutally criticized. KP leaves because WAA WAA I don't like what the Knicks are doing. He then compounds the problem by not apologizing and refusing to communicate with the team and he gets a pass. SMH at the lengths to which people will go in their hypocrisy.
