Knicks · Knicks need to develop a Spurs culture (page 1)

That is such a well run organization that bringing in someone that was under Pop would be a huge step in the right direction for us.

We can never do anything right with Dolan as owner.

JrZyHuStLa @ 6/28/2017 9:50 AM
Good luck with that.
Sinix @ 6/28/2017 9:51 AM
We were on the way to developing a system where the management holds players accountable.

That's out the window.

Melo led a mutiny and won. Think about how he's classified as a player.

Lack of ball movement, not prioritizing d, win now moves at expense of the future.

I know sometimes there's a glimmer of hope when you move on to a new chapter but all signs point to the knicks not going in the direction you're referencing.

Knixkik @ 6/28/2017 9:53 AM
Dolan has proven he will stay out of the way and keep his checkbook open. He just needs to hire the right guy.

Phil brought that possibility yet the players rule today and while it's convenient for Dolan to say he's not involved (and paid Phil $12mm year to prove it)he's still a cancer. KP took a lesson taught my Melo that Phil can be forced out and like George Karl, Dantoni and Now Phil, Dolan obliged. He's team has a high value. He's happy!

Allanfan20 @ 6/28/2017 9:56 AM
This takes years and years.
EnySpree @ 6/28/2017 9:56 AM
Man fuck the Spurs.... Knicks need to develop terror own culture. We're in a bad spot right now. I'm looking for Dolan to go full retard now.

They've already developed a terror own culture.

In the system the OP referenced it's not like that. The players don't rule in the Spurs system. OP is saying we should be more like them, and he's right, but it's the opposite of where the Knicks are going based on the moves today.

In a way, I agreed with the direction PJ wanted the team to go in. His antics & decisions were questionable but he was trying to overcome the entitlement of today's players. Yes the league is driven by their stars but it's the great organzations that win championships (spurs/warriors)
Vmart @ 6/28/2017 10:03 AM
The Knicks have their own culture. They have no vision their GMs are the media and players.
Allanfan20 @ 6/28/2017 10:03 AM
And a GREAT front office that makes wise basketball and behind the scenes decisions. It takes great coaches and players who are on the same page and are also model citizens. It also takes winning many championships. It takes having the right mixture of youthier kids and vets. It also takes having multiple stars who are leaders and one super duper star that everyone in the league holds to the abaolute hoghest regard.

There will never be another Spurs team in the NBA.

This is so true. Once again the Knicks failed miserably.

Huh????? C'mon man

HofstraBBall @ 6/28/2017 10:16 AM
Knicks need to hire an "Experienced" President and GM. Not just based on his name or what organization he has affiliation to. But if its an experienced guy from the Spurs then Hell yeah! I am hoping the rumors are true about Masai(Messiah?). Just think of the sound of his name. If anyone ever needed one its the Knicks.

And it takes being in a market like San Antonio, as opposed to NYC.

They did that with Walsh and he sucked.

How is that experienced guy on the Nets working out? He was a Spurs guy.

An experienced gm to do what? Trade draft picks past and future?

So hire a big name coach to lead BBall operations? How did that work out? OR maybe a big time retired player? Just don't want another "Name" with no experience. Would also help if it is someone young who eats and sleep basketball.

This is not me bashing the Knicks and saying they failed. This is more ao me praising the Spurs for building something nobody else will be able to do.

The Knicks have failed on many levels though. Not for not being the Spurs though.
