This is why you never rush into a trade. Now we might come out of this whole Melo situation looking good depending on how we play this. I would totally be OK with getting Kyrie in a trade for Melo.

Frank N. and Quinn and a first round pick for Irving. We convince Melo that he can win here and we go take the East from Boston.

How fast have we gone from minimal leverage to a whole bunch of leverage just because we would not be bullied by Melo's team into a bad trade with the Rockets or a buyout. We have gone from getting Ryan Anderson to possibly getting Kyrie Irving. The Cavs are going to be desperate to be able and trade for Melo now or Lebron is gone next year. The Cavs will then be left with nothing. Now is the time for the Knicks to finally not get bamboozled in a trade.

I highly doubt Melo would be enough to get Kyrie. I think we'd have to give up a fortune.

Lebron basically runs the point already.. add Melo to Love .. defense would be questionable but they would score for sure.. add the #8 pick who's an 18yr old point guard.. could be the best deal Cavs get for Kyrie out of the teams he listed.

Heat could do a better deal- Dragic, would be the Cavs new point guard plus Bam or Winslow or picks

Why would melo make sense for them if Irving is gone? If Irving goes, Lebron ain't staying.
