HE'S DEFINITELY NOT A MORON, he just had visions he didn't know how to execute, he was inexperience as an exec, hired yes men, and wacked anybody that did not follow his "cult like" triangle passion.
had phill hired an experience, savvy GM, instead of mills (which I don't think he had a choice with mills) he would have been better off

Phil did have a vision of the TYPE of players he wanted and MOST of the players we like as our future were Phil picks!!! It's disingenuous to say he lucked out when so many of his picks have actually shown such promise. Even his decision to hire Gaines has to be acknowledged as a good move.
Phil had a poor management style and stunk trying to build anything around Melo but he stated day one that he was going to have a FUTURE component and he would protect the team's future and he did.
i will grant ya'll that he did protect the future. that's a good way of putting it. even though he totally conflated that protectionism with hap-hazard moves for vets (noah, rose, affalo, lee, jennings, sasha, williams, dalembert, smith)

Yeah, Briggs said it was the right path but didn't say what the path was. I guess the path was to make terrible signings and trades so that we get very good draft picks!
All GMs and Presidents make their share of errors yet Phil with his drafts put us on the right track for a complete rebuild. Once Phil saw that Melo wasn’t a team lease and had diminished skills, he saw fit to secure a great defensive player in Noah. Granted it was a gamble yet Noah wasn’t any defensive player. This along with NTC and ostracizing KP were not his best moves yet KP and his brother were out of line and I’ve no issue with Phil’s being open about it. The wheel is in spin. If KP ends up with First or 2d all pro nba fine. Yet if he ends up never reaching his potential and or injury prone then we will remember Phil.

Phil made a lot more errors then other gms. He didn't trade the 2018 pick and he traded for Willy. Any other 'successes' were just doing his job. Not trading the 2018 pick was doing his job also but it is the first time in a long time that the Knick organization has its first round picks.
Phil Jackson is still on the right path.
