You mean Russia? Putin did kill all the journalists a long time ago, now Trump want to do the same in the USA, propaganda works best if all media is in your pocket

Latvia

No, you have wrong information :)

If you say so...

Anyway, nobody cares about Latvia, but USA must be a good cop of the world and protecting democracy and weak countries, Trump is turning everything around now, he wants to join all the dictators and rule forever!

America is great because Obamas and Trumps come and go but Constitution and Law persist.
The power of US is in civic society, Capitalism entrepreneurship, and Republican political structure.
It was challenged for 200+ years from left and from right and just get stronger and more centered with every push.
And we are not there to police the world. It is you own responsibility to build better life in your country.
We can help if being asked. And we have less and less need in anything 3rd world can offer.
Rather other way around.

When you look at the makeup of the Constitution & Bill of rights. From Presidents only being allowed (2) 4 year terms. To freedom of speech and press, to right to bare arms and form a militia to combat an unjust government. To protection from unreasonable searches seizures, to all crimes having to go to trial in front of jury before conviction, etc etc etc...

They all have a common ideal. Which is accountability at the top for a better America. The Constitution, Rights & Laws are still in place as that's what we know. But the genuine ideals of making these type of sacrifices of power and accountability at the top for a better America. I don't know if that type of heart is still in place.

Each of us has a duty to make sure it is.
In every day life, in talking to people, in voting the right way.
We all can make mistakes and fall to populism and propoganda of any sort.
But we also can think about it critically and change our minds when the truth present itself. And it always will.
There are many outside and inside the country who want to divide us for personal gains or just out of jealousy to what we have achieved.
So we should stay true and strong. Stay together.

Trump has now confirmed that his son, son in law, and campaign manager planned to conspire with a foreign nation in a meeting to get dirt on Clinton, a meeting that he, Trump, claims he didn't know about, despite saying in a speech two days before said meeting that he would soon have dirt on Clinton to show the nation.

He later helped concoct a story about what happened...

Reach your own conclusions.

Forget Russia, the GOP is dismantling the global environment for personal profit by selling out big oil companies. They have an agenda to destroy life, all of it for short term personal gains. The motherfuckers know global warming is man made and getting worse but they don't care. They are basically destroying what little chance this planet has to survive. The other real threat is nuclear warfare and the fascist fukk in the white house keeps escalating that.

Forget Russia, focus on the real problem.

We have meddled in Govt.of other countries including Russia throughout our entire history. This self righteous outrage feels a little empty because it's built on a standard of hypocrisy. I am not condoning collusion but the damage is done and even now there's zero hard data showing any real impact on the election outcome. But centrists can't stop talking about Russia because for the weak it's yet another reason to stick their heads in the sand. Unite against centrism before its too late. They have delivered a lot of noise and distraction and nothing of substance, ever.

You don't have to choose between two corrupt and morally empty options. America can do better, a lot better.

Autocracies are rising both in Europe and US. Goal...Reshape the world since it was last reshaped post 2nd world war.
That's the ultimate goal for Koch brothers and the like in Russia, Europe.

Democracy has never been under attack like this since most of us have been alive.

The whole electoral college vs senators thing works in favor of Koch brothers.
According to an analysis by the Weldon Cooper Center for Public Service of the University of Virginia, Census Bureau data suggests 49.5 percent will live in either North Carolina, California, Illinois, Florida, Georgia, New York, Pennsylvania or Texas

This means that 50% of the population will have 16 senators speaking for them. The remaining 50% will have 84 senators speaking for them. Does that make sense to anyone?

Koch brothers and businesses alike know that their thinking is in the minority. By controlling senators speaking for minority population...they control the senate altogether.

Also...since Supreme Court is supposed to represent the people and their constitution...how do we allow a consistent popular presidential vote in the last 7 presidential elections going to progressive / liberal candidates result in a 5-4 split in favor of conservative judges. It's a miracle that as a nation, we were able to get marriage equality passed. You'd think the split would be more like 6-3 in favor of liberal thinking all the time. Instead, the nation has to deal with minority numbnuts.

This portion is for the Republicans on the forum...
The crazy people we see coming out of the woodwork in conservative parties across the world...you as Republicans cannot stand back now and absolve yourselves of this situation...
A. You created these monsters and allowed them into your party.
B. You thought you'd need them only for important votes and hide them in the closet all other times.
C. Now you want to stand back and say I condemn the monstrous thinking.

Well guess what schmuckos...YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE for them gaining power the way they have and destroying your beautiful treasured conservative ideas. Take a good look in the mirror, because this is deep down WHO YOU ARE, by enabling them.

The Trump scorecard

Inflation up
Wages down
Auto and Student loan defaults reaching crisis levels
Yield curve flattening
Market irresponsibly overbought
Corporations given carte blanche to take in profits while everything stakeholders
Lowest labor force participation and highest opioid impact is in the red states (Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee, West Virginia) - apparently there are no issues when white people live on welfare
Percentage of people stuck on jobs with no wage raises, highest since crash
Percentage of middle class people priced out of Real Estate and Rental markets, highest ever
Percentage of workforce working on large companies, highest ever
Corporate tax collection lowest since 2010, lowest ever as percentage of earnings
Corporate debt has reached alarming levels

Doing pretty well, I would say.

Social media campaigns were begun in October to suppress votes from certain groups...blacks, women, Berners. Why do you think Russians have been indicted?

There has been NO study done to look at the influence of the hacking and social media campaigns on the election, but you would be foolish to believe the didn't achieve some of the things they wanted...kept some folks home...others vote 3rd party.

We already know they tried to hack some Dems running in swing states in 2018, and that they've explored hacking into voting records.

People wouldn't be going on as much about Russia if the government appeared to be hardening our election systems, if the GOP House didn't seem intent on destroying the investigation, and if Trump had not looked like a sellout . Trump calling it a hoax actually attracts scrutiny.

I think folks are able to multitask...the issue right now is that except for the courts, it is hard to block things Trump is doing to the environment.

Most local Dems are not running on Russia as a #1 issue, but it's something in the background that everyone is aware of, and continued awareness of what happened in 2016 will, at the very least, inspire some people to take action at the voting booth.

Going after "centrists" is one reason why Trump won, by the way. I'd prefer the Dems to move to the left, but thinking that some of the extreme ideas of the left are going to be easy to sell in the short term, shows a naiveté I find alarming.

The goal now is to vote the GOP out of power in 2018 in at least one body of Congress, and set things up for defeating Trump if he runs in 2020. I don't give a shyte if the Dem is a centrist or on the left at this point...Watching Trump sweat over the Russia issue, and seeing GOP Senators and Representatives cowering and not stepping up for the nation can be used by Dems in Congressional races to show their opponent does not have any independence from Trump.

In centrist country like US the chances of far right or far left to win public support is slim to non.
Absolute majority of the country does not need any change. People realized that with all issues they like what they have.
The role of the governance in US always was and is complimentary to the People.
As soon as the power swings to the left the country will turn right to compensate and vice versa.
Trump with all his misgivings is a catalyst for American people to get out of their a.sss and take a position.
Everything and everyone in the world has its purpose regardless of they realize what it is or not.

Then for others the next thought is ... WTF... the same stupid mechanics/dynamics work in my local policy as well... while watching 15% vote for Nazis in Germany, Victor Orban, Erdogan, FPÖ in Austria and the far right in Italy trying to attack the common sense in the ppl of their Countries and instilling fear.

Wr will disagree on quite a bit. The goal should be to come up with policies that actually work and to run on a platform to implement them. If a centrist does that I can get behind that. When your goal is to beat the other party you are already losing the narrative. It just leads to endless finger pointing. The core issue with centrists is that they have very few original ideas and the ones they do have get lost or brutally bent out of shape because of all the compromises they make.

I totally reject the idea that we shouldn't or can't pursue left wing g goals. Calling it naive is exactly why the right has this type of stranglehold on the country. They have created this myth that only extreme right ideas will have support and the only way to fight that is through centrist moderation. It's called creating a false dichotomy. I will argue if the left takes a stand and comes up with realistic policy and messaging, it will find a lot more support than you seem to think possible.
Centrist can only win if the people think there is no other route. Complete hogwash.
If centrists win the house and the next presidential election, they will merely add more noise and once again fail to acheive anything substantial. And 6 years from now another right wing populist will win again to make things even worse. How many times do you need to see this before you acknowledge this isn't working?

Centrist can only win if the people think there is no other route. Complete hogwash.
If centrists win the house and the next presidential election, they will merely add more noise and once again fail to acheive anything substantial. And 6 years from now another right wing populist will win again to make things even worse. How many times do you need to see this before you acknowledge this isn't working?

First you should define what you want to improve.
We have almost full employment, nice grows in economy, huge middle class, the biggest amount of millionares in the world (more that 10 millions), violent crime is reduced 40% in last 25 years, and much more.
And all this achieved regardless and independent from any presidents, reps, dems, and any other government sh..t.
All we need is to continue with Government and politicians who are paralyzed enough to not be able to screw the life of American people who know very well how to prosper without any government involved.
Government should help sick, elderly, orphans, disabled, and other people who cannot support themselves and this about it. The rest is up to every person to make it.
Leftism produces only dictatorship, corruption, and misery. This is proven over and over again so many times already with same horrendous results that it is mind bugging some people still believe in this ideas.

Only true until its not true...
By that first line assumption, you would think history will never repeat. When in fact, history does repeat itself in a negative way if there is no opposition. This whole cavalier attitude you are displaying is one of the reasons why people like Trump come to power and another reason why they come very close, if not succeed, in destroying democracy.

Wake up. Do something. Convince others, even if it's just 1 other person. Saying words like "stay strong, stay together" is not enough. Exercise your freedom, don't just relish it.
