But that does not mean he is always wrong.

Yeah, but he's also stating the obvious. People should chill with hyping ANY rookie.

not only is he stating the obvious, Berman went out of his way to get a quote about a player that Karl has zero personal insight into above and beyond what we already know. Clickbait

Typical Berman..why is even talking to karl, Knicks fans never liked him or cared about his 2 cents.

Getting ready for the next book: "Spurious George; How Much I Already Know About Players I've Never Actually Met, What It's Like Coaching in NBA Siberia, And Other Interesting Factoids..."

Read the article. He is in Albany as part of a documentary about the Albany Patroons where he started his pro coaching career. Same for Mussleman and that lousy ex knick president who has 11 rings.
Remember, its not like these guys just make quotes, they are asked questions.
You may not like him, that's your prerogative. I don't like him, but I respect his experience and perspective.

Nothing wrong with getting hyped about a player, without projecting the HOF.

More about seeing a Knick represent, making the rest of the league take notice. Always fun to see.

I think he is instinctively protecting a player who is going to get crushed if he does not fulfill the starphuch hype the papers and now fans have bestowed upon him.
In some fashion we might even applaud Frank for the way he handled himself last year will all that surrounded his rookie season.

Agree. Although sometimes (just sometimes) there are rookies that worth the hype. Not saying this is the case.

Honestly it wasn’t a big deal. Didn’t say anything negative about Knox. As Knick fans we should be excited but from an outsider I understand his point. Like Martin said..just clickbait
wargames @ 9/24/2018 2:59 PM
I feel like all he said is we can't declare Knox will be a star or expect him to drag us into the playoffs based on a summer league performance.
arkrud @ 9/24/2018 3:02 PM
Expectations are that he will struggle as any rook in NBA.
Hope is that he will show potential, came in great shape, stay healthy, humble, and so on.
Not a big deal...

and that too from someone who is already considered irrelevant in today's nba

technomaster @ 9/24/2018 4:17 PM
Still, very odd person to be asking anything about Knox. Maybe Berman keeps some generic quotes stashed away in case he needs them for added credibility in articles.

I think you are giving him too much credit. He's not that great a guy.

Yup. This is what will happen, three months into the season of the kid his a shooting slump. Idiot projection of "all star" ability.

Allanfan20 @ 9/24/2018 8:50 PM
Were people jumping on him for saying this. It seemed pretty mild to me.
knicks1248 @ 9/24/2018 9:35 PM
It's hype because he didn't get to show but so much in college.

It was the same with KP after a few SL highlights.

karl sound bitter to me, sounds like a man who's been fired from every coaching job he's ever had, more so because of his personality, and how he communicates.

Nalod @ 9/24/2018 10:13 PM
Yeah, HOF Cred traveled the world, made millions, etc. You should look in the mirror.
