Knicks · Frank's back, and has been putting in the work! (page 1)

Sangfroid @ 6/21/2019 11:16 PM
How ironic. Frank is in Dallas, working with Tim Martin. Let's no give them anything else.

GustavBahler @ 6/21/2019 11:29 PM
Would be happy to point out something worth getting psyched about, from Frank. Dribbling in place, knocking down a jumper, is nice and all, but knocking down a jumper, off the dribble, with a defender in his grill, would really be noteworthy.

After a few minutes in the gym, I would hope that Frank could hit those shots. These drills are helpful, but they dont take the place of good pick up games.

His days with the Knicks are numbered!

Fear not! Summer League starts July 5th! A Frank /RJ backcourt would be very interesting.

I hope he plays sl. He missed his rookie year and didn’t play much last year.

I don't think he'll get much out of summer league at this point. You could see, even in the limited minutes, he wasn't getting much out of it. I think the Fiba cup will probably be a better experience.

Allanfan20 @ 6/22/2019 12:42 AM
He can become awesome tomorrow, with or without the shot.
technomaster @ 6/22/2019 6:25 AM
Looks like he’s practicing for French team play. He’s shooting from the college/FIBA 3pt line. Looks like a comfy shot for him.

Think his trainer just has him working on muscle memory. Might have tweeked his shot a tad bit as well.

He did.

nyk2017 @ 6/22/2019 9:20 AM
This is a make or break year for him. He must realize that his NBA career is on the line. If it another year like last year then he may be out of the league. I don’t think the Knicks will invest 6 million in 2021 and I doubt anyone gives him a legitimate shot at playing.
GustavBahler @ 6/22/2019 9:47 AM
The shooting drills Barrett is going through (in Barrett thread) look more challenging. Those are the kind of drills Frank should be posting online.
NardDogNation @ 6/22/2019 9:52 AM
He looks leaner than he did last season. It seemed like he had put on a bunch of upperbody weight, especially with the Knicks pushing this nonsense that he should be playing the 3. I know that video was not of him in a game environment but he looked more spry and elusive with his movements, which is a very good sign for him offensively. Again, my expectations are tempered due to the fact that these are only drills but his jumper also seems to be remarkably more fluid than it's been in years past. It use to be too mechanical and had a wind up to it that allowed defenses to better read the tell in order to contest it. I'll take this as some evidence of growth.
Nalod @ 6/22/2019 10:01 AM
Not sure why he wore black socks. They make his feet look slower.
The gray tee shirt is also not form fitting. Would show if he has worked on weights.
Really, why did they post these videos and what can we get out fo them?

How about stepping back behind the NBA 3-pt line, Frank!

RJ's step back looks nice.

I’m not one to study form as intricate as some of you but it looks like he is working on the footwork as much as delivery. A quick smooth delivery. As for distance, I’m not going to sweat this out in June. We are not there to see the whole workout nor has been instruction as to what the drive is for.

My take is Frank is not in Westchester as he needs a fresh approach and perhaps its demoralizing if your being shopped. My guess also is his fate with the knicks is largely base on his cap hold and what happens in free agency. He needs a situation where he can get an opportunity. He played 78 games his rookie year. He needed last season awful. He was hurt most of the year. ITs not a question of him putting in the work, its how much absorbs into his game.
Maybe if he wears a headband it will make him at least seem more animated.
Perhaps he can change his citizenship to “Canadian”, seems to be all the cool kids are from there now!!

Frank is practicing in Frisco TX. He needs a fresh approach for sure and he needs to get away from the Knicks training staff. He needs to get back to his basics. If I were to advise any of the young Knick players have your own development crew. The Knicks can’t help in that department.

StarksEwing1 @ 6/22/2019 3:10 PM
We are in a position where we can be patient with him. Kid is still extremely young. Injuries have been very frustrating. Just when it looks like he is having a couple decent offensive games he gets injured.

He definitely needs to try something different because what he is doing hasn’t worked. He needed to show growth last year not regression. It is going to be hard for him to get minutes with Kadeem, DSJ, Trier, Dot and RJ. I am not sure where the hate is coming from for the Knicks staff. If you want to fault the Knicks for where Frank is at I think you criticize them for trying to make him a point guard and doing it in the nba. Frank played mostly off the ball in France and was not ready to make the leap to the nba as a point guard. If that was the goal he should have spent a year or two in West Chester playing on the ball.
