And with Frank that could take a while. This is not Frank hate. Just a commentary on his confidence being fragile.
His confidence bing fragile is not Frank hate, even Frank homers know that the kid has confidence issues.
I haven't noticed any confidence issues this year. First year they were all over the place on offense but not on defense.
Dude stood at a standstill with LeBron. Has bodied up to Harden and any other player you put in front of him. Tried to dunk on KP and Dwight.
He just can't shoot but he does take those shots. Just has to learn to make
He also needs to further bring his inner dawg out, it comes and goes. Take the ball away from Randle. Probe the defense. Don't defer to Randle and Morris and others.
For me it's a kind of confidence but not the one you are talking about, more like stamping out a larger role for himself and also performing better at it.
I wish we'd do a small trade for a stop gap center like Olynk or Dieng

That's what i'm talking about. If he isn't demanding the ball now /deferring what do you think he will do on a brand new team?

spot on. frank's confidence issue if at all is on offense; i think there may be something to that; i also think he naturally hesitates wondering if there's a better shot for someone else
seeing him try to dunk on Dwight Howard, I'm like "dude, do that on Kemba and all the other undersided pgs!!"

Feel like Frank still has an upward trajectory. He isn't failing in the sense of folding today and I wouldn't expect him to do that on another team.
It's just painfully slow growth
And gawd awful shooting
I’d rather have just re-signed Luke Kornet than sign Portis

I hate Portis but does Kornet really get you much? Shooting worse from 3 than Frank or DSJr and that says a lot, his biggest redeeming value was as a stretch big.
Portis is playing much better by comparison and that's not saying much quite frankly

Yeah, good luck with that Detroit. Dude isnt even an All Star. Still, you never know unless you ask.

Kornet seemed to get on well with Mitch, he’s not as selfish on offence as Portis. He’s not very good, but we wouldn’t have been paying him $15mil. Cap space would make mid season trades easier.

I had a far worse reaction at first but then I looked at his stats and he’s actually playing pretty damn good. 19ts ppg shooting 38% from 3 and 57% TS AND .90 WS48. I wish his asts were up but he’s playing on a team with Paul and Shai. He’s a UFA in 2021 and there are no PGs like him besides VanVleet in this upcoming free agency. Do you pull the trigger?
Schroeder instead of Payton, yes. Do we draft a PG? Depends on our position of course.
We have Frank and Dennis also expiring next year.
Fans want to see the path. If you can’t see it it can’t be:
Frank and Dennis might be part of a long range plan. I know that hurts. With all OKC has I doubt Schroeder is part of the long range plan. I take him cheap. Question is what doe they want in return?

I think he is worth one of the Dallas picks, Dennis Smith and Zo, and an expiring. Also Randle for him would work
front office grasping at straws. if they trade a Dallas pick for Dennis they should be fired on the spot
we should be sellers not buyers
I would rather have Payton and a first round pick i can use in the future or for future trades than Dennis Schroeder.
Schroeder might be better than Payton but not by that much that you could justify using a first rounder.

Shroder is sooo much better than Payton in every category. If he comes here now he'd be our 2nd best player.

My issues are, I think it's a fluke year for him shooting wise (playing with 2 other pgs likely is leading to better shots), plus why part with assets when you can draft a PG in a PG heavy draft? If we love schroeder why not wait a year until he's a free agent?
Also someone said schroeder is a great back up PG but not a good starting one.

The way I see it you could run a pairing of Haliburton and Shroder together. As for his shooting numbers he's made a similar jump to Brandon Ingram and his form looks a lot better. You give away the dallas 2023 pick and an expiring is it the worst thing in the world?
