With that, I did see him quite a bit here in Atlanta. He's a ball dominate shot-first lead guard who doesn't get many assist so he needs to be paired with another playmaker. He puts a ton of pressure on the defense because of his quickness and can get into the paint at will. He's tough minded, plays hard and aint afraid of the moment. He seems to be a much improved shooter from deep by looking at his numbers this year which was a weakness of his in the A. Another weakness of his was shot selection. But looking at his numbers this year, he may have cleaned up that aspect of his game.
Not a huge fan of Schroeder, but he most def is an upgrade at point. Making this trade seems to indicate that the Knicks are still trying to make a push at the playoffs....
Moving Knox could also mean they plan to commit to Morris or Iggy. Not sure how I feel about this. Win now moves are a mistake for fourteen win team in my opinion.
Or move RJ to SF, which I think is better than having him SG
That person who posts on one of the Hawks forums who claims insider info said the Hawks were interested in Capella a few days ago, mentioned something about a 3 team trade with Miles Turner or something
I could see the Warriors dealing D Russell to the Twolves for their unprotected first, Covington and Dieng. Crazy when you think that the Warriors could end up with 2 top 5 picks in this years draft.
I presume Knicks are proposing DSJ for Mo Bamba- never going to happen!

I think Hornets makes the most sense- there were rumors much earlier in the year saying they were interested in signing Drummond in the offseason, hopefully he goes there and not here.
They should sell the team and move the franchise if we are dumb enough to trade anything for Andre Drummond.
The Pistons barely made the playoffs with Griffin playing at an all star level and drummonds empty double double.
We need defenders and shooters.

Bamba for DSJr and Trier works contract wise.
https://www.sny.tv/knicks/news/sources-k...Begley reporting that Knicks and Warriors have interest in trading Russel for Portis and Frank. Contract wise that doesn't work. However, Portis and Payton for Russel works.
I know we are all down on our Knicks again this year...with good reason. However, we are in a good place trade wise. We have a bunch of 1 year contracts that teams will want to either help them with shedding salaries or as a final piece for their playoff run. Payton, Portis, Morris, Ellington and Bullock can be someones final piece to strengthen their bench. DSJr, Frank, Frank, Trier have warts but should be enticing enough for a team trying to add some young talent. Hopefully, Mills is not allowed to deal anymore and just let Perry do the thinking and dealing.

Portis and Frank are not nearly enough for Russell. Mitch may have to be included, not to mention a 1st rd pick. Lets not forget, Russ was an allstar last year and lead the nets to the playoffs...

Don't worry. I'm 97% sure it won't happen is Sheridan is reporting it.

Gross. Would love to have Russell but most I'm giving up is a 2023 Dallas pick, our 2nd rounder, DSJ and Randle

The trade probably look like this portis, frank, and ellington for russell and i really doubt the knicks want to trade payton. One of dsj or frank and maybe both are leaving at this deadline it hasn't worked out for both of them here.

Unless the plan is to move Klay to SF Its my take that Russell is a luxury Warriors don't need. They basically got him for Durant which enables them to have a tradable asset to round out the team for next year.
Portis and frank could be useful role players but the price will be much higher.
Is Russell better than anyone in this years draft?
Dare they look to trade RJ Barrett as the core for him? Barrett with Iggy as back up next year? Deal would be bigger than being reported. I have nothing but speculation.

I think at the very least we'd have to also give up our first rounder for this year (unprotected), as anything less than that and they could just trade him to the Twolves (who would be willing to give up their first rounder for this year)

I always look at trades from the other team's perspective. If I'm the warriors, any trade offer from the Knicks has to begin with Mitch and a 1st round pick. Frank and Portis are not even close to enough for Russ. Why would GS want trade pg who is 2xs better than the pg the Knicks are offering? And you also want me to take Randle?
If that's the offer, I'm hanging up the phone.

I don’t know if we would have to add Mitch, unless they add something else, a pick that’s going to be a top 10 pick plus portis who is basically a write off for cap space next year and Payton who as well is a write off for cap space
Portis, Payton and our number one unprotected... anything else and I’m hanging up the phone if I’m the knicks ..

Looking at it from their perspectives they are the ones who need to trade him more than we need him. How many teams in the NBA need a guard like Russell?
Maybe Cleveland?
Maybe Magic?
T Wolves?
Detroit?
Spurs?
How many of them are interested? Right now its just us and the T Wolves. If I offer you a pick, Frank, and expiring essentially we are giving GSW a chance to start over and find their KD replacement and they're a pick and a solid backup PG better off than they were last year. Are the Twolves stupid enough to give up their pick this year for him? GSW arnt taking back Wiggins as that would defeat the whole purpose of the trade in the first place. I could see a Russell+GSW pick for Towns but that would be highway robbery given how horrible this draft is. Not saying the package we have to offer is ideal but GSW are the ones in a pickle here not us and we are correct in trying to exploit that.

TWolves have to give up their #1 because they have no expiring good deals to give up
I honestly hope we keep Morris and deal Randle. We need to build this team the right way, with shooting and defense.

But does that make sense for TWolves? Lets say the deal is as someone posted earlier Covington + Dieng + their first for Russell. Do the T-Wolves become a better team and or more financially better off?
