I agree. It would also means Mills remained and we're looking at a starting lineup of Drummond, Morris, Bullock, Payton and D'Angelo Russell.

He plays hard and can def do some things... we saw a lot of that last season also. Unfortunately the 2 knocks on his game that hold him down are he cant stay healthy and he cant shoot. He's been good for us. There is nothing not to like, and he wouldnt be the first PG to be a late bloomer and show another level at 25 years old. Good price tag.
The question with Elf is how good and how effective of an NBA player can he be? The answer appears to be pretty average at best. If you have some other good parts Elf can play a role for you, like Felton did when we had Melo/Chandler playing at AS levels.
I def think not having him early hurt, especially as poorly as the other PGs were playing

-- Payton hadn't missed a bunch of games. Yeah, I know Fizdale didn't have Payton but, given Fizdale's cluelessness, he wouldn't have maximized Payton's talents anyway (three more wins).
-- We weren't dog [poop] at the free throw line. How many games have we shot at or below 60% and went on to lose the game by a possession or two? I haven't researched it but I'd guess there are more than a couple of games we'd have won if we'd have shot the league's free throw average percentage. One of Clyde's favorite points is that you can make yourself at least a 75% FT shooter if you're willing to give it the effort.
I get that conjecture is useless but maybe, just maybe, there are a few slivers of light in an otherwise dismal season and, more importantly, legitimate hope that we can turn the corner.
