Papabear Says
I'm sick and tired of false hope and dreams. We were lead to believe something great was to happen at the trade deadline and nothing but tank tank tank. Every year the same thing. Poor players and bad management. How can you build a franchise when all you do is trade your draft picks for more draft picks. And players who can't shoot. What are they looking at when they bring in players? I feel that we will never see that final championship when the great player won't come here and the good ones leave or get traded. Give me what you are feeling. EXPRESS YOUR FRUSTRATION.
I'm still living on the fumes of Spree & 1999 and my Division Champs hat from 2012-13!
LMAO
If their own agent cant get stars in here, then NOBODY will!!!
SHOW ME THE MONEY!!!!

Also, Detroit is going to be bad. That second round pick should be high. Someone on twitter said it was from the double draft?

You can't call that savvy until you see the player we draft in one of the weakest draft classes in recent memory.
Now if leon comes in and flip that pick for someone special..then ill give a thumbs up

Absolutely Crush. That second rounder is gonna be high and you can find gems early in the second round. Mitch was 36

it’s funny the only way you think anything is a good deal is if we trade picks. I mean we have a lot of picks now so we have flexibility to do that but that’s why is a good deal. But you never like anything we do. You hated the Melo trade even though we got Mitch in that deal, you wanted Russell even though it would of cost us a lot, and predictably you hate this trade.

I thought about finding a new team. Then I thought about what DJ suffers through, stumbling through forum of other teams and trying to convince people of how relevant the Raps are...this is my grave.

Morris makes 15 million, we traded him for a 25th or worse pick in the first round and filled zero holes on the most unbalance roster in the NBA, You are saying that a bottom of the draft pick is more valuable than what morris brings to the table..(Maybe you thing the losing is a good way to develop)
Scott perry's BODY of work over the last 10+ seasons has been a flat out FAILURE, he has not been associated with any winning franchise since Detroit (where he had a minor role) in the FO...So stop acting like HE"S THE MAN
Don't sit up here and try to justify any of these moves as a success, because you know better, and you don't have a leg to stand on, just pure optimism
You have seen this movie 6 yrs in a row and the ending has been the same, so what makes you feel that it will be different?
And hell no, I'm not excited about any of our young players (accept rj) because all they know is losing, their IQ's are low, they can't shoot, and they don't work on their game hard enough..
$15 mil for a pick?
No we got a lot of production from Morris. (This isn't the Memphis/Igoudala situation) He was a good player. Players don't play for free. He won us some games. He earned that money.
We got a late 1st and an early 2nd for renting Morris out for a team to use him in the post-season. I am going to root for the Clips because of him at least in the Western Conference playoffs. He wasn't going to the playoffs here. He earned his $15 mil these first 50 games.

This. Breen was raving about Morris’s impact on the young players. Miller raved about his practice habits and how the young players copy his practice habits. Also, the guy they got from the Wiz sounds like a decent prospect.
I'd rather tank for a few years and get top future talent than trade for bums and bust free agents that won this team nothing for the last 30 years. The way to build a top team is drafting top young talent, like it or not...tanking gets you there...just need patience ..
I was sad to trade Kritsznaps, Porzingis because he was the type of talent to build around... a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush, is what they should've used there

last I checked him and his idiot brother demanded a trade. You may not like the return but he forced our hand. So let’s be fair about it.

You got to show the young guys frank ,mitch ,knox, and rj barrett some type of culture of winning otherwise it becomes a kp situation and they ask out.

I kinda find myself agreeing with knicks1248, but I’m not convinced that adding a super late first round pick in what I have read is a weak draft is worth it and overcompensates for losing out on having Morris around to continue to help us win games.
Our draft picks, including our future ones, need veterans around to help them learn to win, help them learn what it means to be a pro off the court, and from everything said about Morris, he brought that.
I hope we can resign Morris in the summer. He proved he could play here.
was he a knucklehead? Yes.
Is he the #1 option on a playoff team? No.
Some of the talk about downplaying Morris and what he meant reminds me of the comments here about Kurt Thomas.
Great win last night. I certainly don’t want to win too many games and have us in a position to miss out on a solid talent in the draft.
And while I don't like the trade, I think Perry got a nice haul out of it.
I just would've not made this trade.
We don’t trust the knicks so we don’t Ofer the benefit of the doubt. We have never had this inventory of Picks. We are fundamentally doing things differently than before and things other teams did to build a core. MOrris is a a good player having a career year on a bad team. WE got free assets in those picks.
Because we don’t trust given our past we assume it extrapolates into the future. This is human nature. Since we know picks are not a high % want to talent then the more you have the better. 1248 actually wants we have done in the pas which is go for proven commodities. This means you limit your upside by paying a premium for it. There is a time for that but not at this stage. WE don’t have a core yet. KP was regrettable because he was a core talent. Sorry, this is the “express frustration” thread. OK, “I’m frustrated with the level of small thinking by fans at times.” Now I’m compliment.

I'm not quite sure what 1248 wants.
But I appreciate the abundance of draft picks. That is a change. But mostly, I appreciate us keeping our own, so that when we're bad, we're not having another team pick a franchise talent like a LaMarcus Aldridge or Joakim Noah.
When we traded KP, they absolutely had to get draft picks, and those will probably turn out to be pretty poor.
But I don't think it's small thinking to want to keep Morris for his role helping us win games and provide a positive model for players like Knox, who honestly they way he has played this year, might be out of the league soon.
