Almost as if we let it happen to suppress voting here in the US.
A general lockdown/quarantine followed by social distancing and masks works extremely well when paired with the rule that any international travelers having to quarantine before they are allowed to enter. I wish Americans where as considerate and smart as Australians.

The crazy thing about this is, you'd think the US and Europe would be phoning those countries and learning as much as they can, getting advice etc, but nope! We think we're the smartest region on earth so decided to figure it out ourselves.
This may continue thru end of January or more?

This is really, really great news! However I'm also furious reading it, as it means most of the deaths we're currently experiencing (plus all the people that die between now and January- maybe we'll be up to 400,000 by then), could have been avoided if Trump had tried to suppress the virus and buy time until the vaccine was found.

Hopefully a vaccine possibly being around the corner will motivate people to adhere to this
And just in case anyone wants to waste their time again

My main question would be how long the immunity lasts. Since it seems like people who got Cvid can catch it again in a few months does this mean we have to take the vaccine every few months also?

I am proud to say I was traveling for about 4 hours yesterday and only saw 3 people not wearing a mask. It is amazing how fast things change. At the start of the pandemic anyone wearing a mask would catch my attention. Now anyone not wearing a mask immediately catches my attention.

I have no idea on specifics of how long it would last. I do know that a booster shot is probably necessary months after the vaccine. Doubt it is a few months only vaccine, that would be notable
We all do yearly flu shots (or should)

I actually just got my first flu shot this year. Even though I rarely get sick sick (I get allergy sickness sometimes), the thought of me getting both the flu and covid made me cringe. Barely felt anything after the shot besides a little soreness for a day or so at the site of the injection.

I have to admit I have never gotten a flu shot. I only got the flu once in my life during my college years. It put me on my butt for a week straight.
