Goes to show you what type of talent they are surrounded with.
Look at the box score, the starters minutes, the lack of Mitchell even playing. Can't draw any conclusion. You wonder why your cred suffers. Same for Toronto vs. Bucks. Toronto held out its players. Gianis did not play.

Do we really need two Kenny Payne threads?!

Just a hypothetical situation - In a draft-redo, would you pick Devin Booker over KP (and possibly KAT)?

Unfortunately at this point he is.
Our organization muffed it up to lead him to want to go. What else is new?

Worst trade in knicks history

trey Burke looks good with Luca!

I think KP knows he’s not a leader and didn’t want the pressure of the city for being the number one option. He knows he’s better suited as a second or third opinion . he’d rather go to a low key city where he can hide his off nights from the media lights....
we are getting 2 first round picks from Dallas for a injury prone inconsistent player who averages under 10 rebounds a game at 7’3”... I think fans a delusional to think we could have gotten a better haul... no team in there right mind would give up there stars knowing KP wasn’t going to resign with the Knicks.
Simply put dude is not worthy or capable of handling NYC. So we got him the Fu CK out of here. We’ll boo him till the day he’s not in the NBA. KP is a turd
MS@ 8/12/2020 9:25 AM
How hard is it to understand.
He’s a rookie, the organization wants him to take a stand against a HOF all time scorer and side with Phil. Three coaches in 3 years. Complete disfunction. It’s not that he didn’t want to be the man here it’s a shit show of epic proportions.
He scored 30pts for the 4th time in 6 games, he’s a beast and we got a guy that’s going to be out of the league and two shitty late round draft picks.
They rushed the trade didn’t give teams an opportunity to bid. We fired another coach, we blew our lottery pick two years in a row, why would anyone want to stay here.
You can’t just say it’s NyC that not a plan. There is a reason why we are headed into another offseason and going straight back to the lottery.

Why should he have stayed?
I guess he should have embrace the losing culture..
And he certainly didn't have his choice of teams to be traded to

Another 30 point game, another loss. It's easy to see that teams are letting KP "get his" and are focusing on Luka. KP would never see the one on one coverage here that he's seeing now. KP is a good player, but I will fall short of calling him a superstar. Anyway, it's done. Time to look forward.

Yeah, people are reading way too much into these games, which have a certain pre-season feel to them, especially for teams that have already clinched their playoff berths in a no-home-court-advantage tournament.

3. Kristaps Porzingis' footspeed is becoming an issue Porzingis has been an excellent rim-protector this season. The issues have come just about everywhere else, and were exacerbated by Lillard. Even when he dropped, Lillard had no trouble racing around him. When he did come out to the perimeter, it practically created a free lane to the basket. Nobody is asking Porzingis to be Draymond Green, but modern offenses force big men to defend away from the rim at least a little bit. If he can ever do it, he'll be an All-Defense candidate. If he can't? Dallas is going to have to find ways to compensate defensively.
Am I the only one who doesn't enjoy watching Doncic play? I struggle to pay attention to or even notice what he's doing half the time. It's like with Harden, I know they are ridiculously effective players and put up inhuman stats, but I just don't like watching them play. I always prefer watching the big players play- AD, Giannis, Mitch, even KP (much as I harbour a grudge and it pains me to say it), so might just be personal preference.
Nalod@ 8/12/2020 1:22 PM
From what have seen kp struggle late in crunch time where Luca shines. Fatique might be a factor. His great weapon is long range shot but crunch time misses can lead to long rebounds which leads to quick transition points. I don’t want to shyt all over him because he rejected us but his stats and success is in part being on a better team than he was here. To measure the trade NOW seems silly. We got fucked by regrettable circumstances. If we did not take the Dallas deal it might have yielded a lessor deal. We measure nowbecause he is lighting it up after a 4 month rest and it looks bad. I’m angry, and most of you are. Blame is easy so why not. I’ll repeat myself: “Regrettable”. KP did not get traded by Phil, regrettable. KP blew out his knee, Regrettable, KP Ego to film his recovery for a documentary, regrettable Knicks not paying him over the summer, regrettable. KP being a skitty bitch calling out Fiz for his “sprints” when Likely Fiz meant on court wind sprints not at a high schoool track, Regrettable. We can keep going on and on. As for how Melo was treated? That goes both ways in my book. Melo did not exactly live up to his words when he wanted his contract and got it. We as he entirely to blame? No, PHil did build the culture he promised. Did KP want to leave because we phuched melo over and handed him the keys to the franchise in the biggest market in the world? That’s conjecture. Shake my head, look down at my shoes, mutter Regrettable to myself and moved on. ITs like seeing you old girlfriend in high school dating a upper class an with a car. Feels bad at the time. Then you get older, get your drivers license, get a hot new girl and its all good. Then years later your married, happy with your choices and its all a part of the journey. My concern is knicks get better and if they do we won’t think of KP as much. Or Dennis. Or Fiz.LOL
newyorknewyork@ 8/12/2020 1:47 PM
None of these game touch on the real questions about KP. Which is stamina and durability. NBA took a break for like 6 months and everyone is pretty fresh. But what happens for an 82 game season and then playoff intensity and physicality after that. KP and Luka are both young and the Mavs will have many many years ahead of them to get as much help around them as possible.
But KP having some good games now after having 6 months off doesn't touch on the real questions about his stamina and durability. Also if he maintains that same shitty attitude that he had in NY. Then that will potentially bring another set of problems.

Guys like him are gym rats, he looks like he was shooting and dribbling before he could even walk, and his BBIQ is though the roof.
It also Looks like he mastered the fundamentals at a very young age, then work on his skills because everything looks so easy to him and he is loaded with confidence, but not in a brash way.
I never though Shaq was really good ball player, he just seem like a really good athlete for his size, and was just stronger than everybody in the league.
