Wonder if he means the new developments staff we saw rumored a few weeks ago, or if we’re adding more proper assistant coaches and are just waiting for the coaching carousel to settle before we see which assistant coaches are available

I don't know how those 2 things would be different?

I’m presuming assistant coaches are more courtside and involved in plays etc, whereas training staff are more behind the scenes and outside of games (could be wrong)

That's what I think also. I guess this seals the fate for Mike Miller as he would have been announced already as an assistant coach especially since he is under contract or is he hoping to get a better position in other coaching vaccanies.

Unless Mike Miller was who Thibs was referring to when he said they had to be patient and wait for some stuff be be sorted out (Maybe Mike's seeing if he can get a bigger job role elsewhere first, and if he can't he'll be back as a lowly assistant)

If Rivers is on the outs in LA, I hope Miller gets an interview. Otherwise, I agree. If Miller cant land a head coaching gig, hope he's on the bench in NY. Thibs might be able to put in a good word for him, down the road.

The Clippers have championship aspirations. I doubt they fire Rivers, but even if they did, no way do I see them hiring Miller, a guy who only coached half a season and has zero playoff experience. I think he will land on his feet as an assistant coach somewhere.

He's been a coach for a long time. Not some kid. Got more out of the vets than Fizdale. Morris was playing like an all-star with Miller as coach. He's on the Clips now.

LOL I'm a big Mike Miller fan, but the clippers won't fire doc and hire Miller because he made Morris look like an all star and made the knicks play much better, but below 500 ball.

The best he can get is an associate head coach position or the 2nd main assistant. With the knicks I think if thibs is gonna get more assistants it will be the ones he has worked with and the best he can give Miller is the one at the back row, which might be a disrespect to him.

I've said it in previous threads, hopefully he becomes our g league coach again given the knicks plan to use that more now.

I think Clips are more likely to move Paul George than fire Doc at this point. Kawhi can’t be happy with George, plus they had zero chemistry.

They might fire Rivers over all those 3-1 leads he's blown. Never said Morris would be the only reason to hire him. Got the vets as a whole to play better.

Toronto has a chip' because Ujiri traded for a superstar to be coached by a recently promoted assistant coach.

I think they give it another year or if they start slow next year, they axe rivers and promote lue if he is still there. I think playing kahwi load management was the main reason why they never developed a groove, numerous players on a new team and inconsistent games played will hunt you.

They also need to get a play making back up point, getting reggie Jackson when you got lou will was a head scratcher. A guy like elfrid Payton might help them a lot tbh, need someone to control the pace and distribute

Maybe I have missed it but I'm disappointed to not see Lamar Peters at these workouts

I mean if he’s comfortable with that form, more power to him but his forearm is inward and it looks like it’s taking away that all important window. I like his quick release though.
