I laugh when I think how naive we all were when we thought teams wouldn't want to spend big money and would want to offload contracts this offseason, and how that would be to our advantage!

How is PG signing indicative of that?

Not just him, but all the huge contracts that got handed out this offseason- crazy amounts of money considering we don’t know if the leagues finances are going to rapidly bounce back after this season

This is a smart "business" move by the Clips...they can always move him and that likelihood is high if they don't win it this yr. Either they win it is all good or they lose and Kawhi leaves and they trade PG to move up in the draft or they lose and they trade PG for a better running mate for Kawhi...

I voted for him -- twice -- but screw 'im. Anyway, it's time to turn the tables on the lazy cheap takes and jokes. Of course then they'll all be jumping on the bandwagon but what can you do.

LOL...........
Man, the jokes are not slanted. Knicks are the worst or second worst over the last 20 years so lets not thing we don’t deserve this. We do.
Dolan selling the team won’t change the past. Nobody’s words can change it. They do on the court.
IM not going to hate on Harden or wish Nets ill if he goes there. They either get it done or not. I admire Nets ambition with the Russian that they went all in and then how they went about restricting without all thei picks to return to form ENOUGH to attract Durant and Irving. IT took discipline and then a financial commitment to make it happen. I know many of you will revel in their misery if they fail. I’m going to take a high road and just say that we take care of our business on the court then let all the others fall or rise as they may. I’d rather Nets win than any other except the Knicks. At lease some NYers can gain some joy from them. Rivals are born from important games. Give me Subway conf. Final with the Knicks winning! Nets failure does not cure knick failure!

And what type of Knick fan are you again?

A bit mature.

Of course. Mature fandom always admires the potential of a cross-town rivalry while rooting for Nets wins. Nets failure might not cure Knicks failure, but it sure doesn't hurt. Sort of like having Yankee dreams of the Mets winning it all rather than the Dodgers. Or some such altruistic, sports-purist thingy like that.
But we've gone down this badger hole before.

Or maybe you just mean Nalod is old?

I have explained it many times. A rival cannot exist until there is meaningful games. Knicks are not worthy rivals yet.

Maturity? When the misery of others don’t bring me joy. My own happiness has to come from what I do. Those are petty jealousy’s you speak of. I don’t subscribe to those as they a waste of positive energy.

Rivalries also exist by pure geography. The nature of fandom is fanaticism; at least in the mildest sense of the word. Why waste any energy at all, rooting for one team over another? And I'm not speaking of jealousy. Not sure a Knicks fan would be jealous of the Nets... now, or even back in the early 2000's. I know I wasn't.

Nets win, I don't care. They lose, it's just better than the Knicks losing; obviously not as good as the Knicks winning, but slightly better than nothing. Not that difficult or energy-wasting.

I'm a Gints fan. They may make the playoffs this insane season. Should I waste any positive energy giving two sheehits about the Jets, beyond a wry smile?

I waste all my positive energy on the Knicks. LOL

I hate it when egotistical a***holes quote Malcolm X, as if what they're going through is the same as what he went through and his struggle is the same as theirs. Kyrie, you're trying to get out of doing press interviews because you don't like them- there is no grander scheme at work here.

Watching the Hornets game. Lamelo made three passes in his first five minutes that I feel most NBA PG's are incapable of replicating. The pace of the game once he came in was incredible. On a side note, was not that impressed with Haliburton last night. Seem so small compared to rest of the players on the floor. Does have some speed and quickness though.

Yeah, I heard some "experts" kill the Knicks for taking Obi over Haliburton, pointing to Hal's advanced stats. But they conveniently leave out the very obvious flaws in his game like the 5th grade rec league form on his J or his aversion to the paint. The CAA conspiracy surrounding Obi and the Knicks is weak, considering most of the prospects left. I still might've taken Deni, but the Obi pick wasn't from left field.

houston20 @ 12/12/2020 9:50 PM
Problem with lamelo is his jump shot is very bad as seen tonight i know its only preseason but his jump shot is terrible. Lamelo had some nice passes and rebound the ball well but other than that wasn't the greatest showing.

The pace definitely picked up when he entered the game...he also snatched 10 rbs. He turned down an open 3 to drive closer to the basket only to commit a charge. Dropped a 🍩 last night. Not only will he struggle to score but seems reluctant to shoot at this point...

😢

Also, shot out to DDot with the solid game.

Just looking at roster

Milwaukee doesn’t have the depth it had last year

I assumed when they did the Holiday trade it was because Giannis had agreed to extend- seems like he hasn't, in which case trading away 5 UNPROTECTED firsts has made a dangerous situation, even worse! You couldn't have done a worse trade for the franchise if you tried.

Insane trade

They got held up

IMO. Winning is the only thing teammates care about. Maybe the media and fan forums care about what someone says on Twitter but do not think players even care. Not exactly the first or last athlete to say stupid stuff. If the Nets win they will all be a happy family.

Shot can be worked on. His brother had worse mechanics. The problem is that they/dad did not let anyone try to change their mechanics. Once in the NBA they will have high level help and will respect them enough to listen. The one thing you cant teach is Bball IQ. This kid is advanced and his ability to push tempo is special.

HofstraBBall @ 12/13/2020 7:10 PM
No Westbrook, Beal, Bertans, Napier etc. Result..Nets put up 68 in first half. Advdija looks like a very good shooter and good IQ.
