LOL- never listen to me!😂

nah man they checked the boxes... Beal/Westbrook *should* be a good fit surrounded by some blue collar bigs like Lopez and some fresh legs w/ Rui. Anyway they totally blow and it was a good win. Toppin is really coming along. They are coaching him up. They are working him on defense. They were really making him earn it. But now, with Rose, you guys will see why this guy was the best scorer in college. Remember this dude has moves, he's 6'9, 220, has 40" vert and a 7'4 wingspan.

Last night Thibs spoke highly of Toppin's progress and suggested he might be part of a minutes solution for who gets Mitch's 30ish

Get the feeling we're going to see a much more polished player next season. Not always the case with rookies (as we've seen) Obi looks like he's going to figure things out. This season or next.

I keep telling folks, give him a full off-season to work on his body with a pro trainer and he'll be fine.

Not me. Toppin is fun to watch. Can’t wait to see more and I feel confident we will.

Rose is a threat more than Rivers and perhaps IQ has the ball less. The defense has to respect IQ and thus Obi shakes lose which is something he might be also getting better at with time as well. One part Rose, one part Obi, and kudo to the coach!

Good call.

First response was “OMG< Rose gonna eat IQ’s minutes”. Perhaps media and fans will learn to trust Thibs a bit more. Not that everything he touches will turn to gold, but at least give a benefit of doubt.
When Rose was here last time he was unceremoniously moved from his MVP-HOF career in a contract year with a stupid bad PR civil sex trail to a team trying to find its Triangleness ways. Rose did a bad job reconciling his fall from grace cumulating in a AWAL event.
HE returns having reconciled his lot in life and reduced role while still collecting his stipend 14mil from Addidas for being an NBA player.
NY loves to beat down a man on a pedestal but equally loves a comeback story.
IN honor of JROD I will also proclaim my admiration for Melo to have realigned his ego to carve out a smaller but important role on a rather decently good Portland team.

Nalod might make his Me70 proclamations in honor of the highlight reel dunk and his occasional 60% shooting from 3. One might also notice the Cat with the Fat in the Hat is getting about 30 minutes per game filling in the scoring needs for a rather debilitated Portland team. Rocking the Denver braids again.
Guess it's easier to realign the ego when you're getting as much, if not more burn than some of the starters.

So much easier to root for an ex-Knick that actually accomplished something here, as opposed to all this randomly latent KP love.

What again did Melo accomplish here? Just kidding....

After watching him two games in a row, anyone regret the Knicks passing on Westbrook?

Are we or Briggs going to compare every pick to their entire draft class? Are we expecting the knicks to always pick the best 💎 in every draft? That's not realistic. So these comparisons really mean nothing. Every player plays different under certain coaching environments. Like Thibs system can make certain players shine and others look lost. Especially players like obi who relies on an offensive system, which thibs is weak at. And obi weakness is thibs strength in defense. To me that's good for obi.

And obi doesn't have to turn into this mega star. I thought obi was a long term pick, to replace Randle. So we needed somebody willing to wait his turn and learn from Randle. I think if we knew Randle would turn himself into an allstar, they probably would've passed on obi. But its hard when he's a local kid and he falls to us like he did.

Toppin might need a good SL and perhaps even 1/2 a year in the G league. He’s gotta find a style of play so he can follow the pattern in the nba.

I'd have to go back an dig it up, but there was a thread about getting Westbrook going around during pre-season, from the dearly departed from the site TripleThreat.
His stat line is incredible. He was a few turnovers away from having a quadruple double.. I've rarely ever seen a guy who could fill ALL of the stat line and still not carry a team to a win. Too bad you can't get 10 fouls, too.

But like NALOD says, he sure is fun to watch.

They guy is like an aerodynamic machine. His head and face have contours build for speed. Love it when he is in “Crackhead Mode” were he goes for head fakes and silly fouls. Nice thing is we can always find another channel and watch him in a different uniform.
Frank got Beal all out of sorts in first half? LOL1!!!!

This play best describes Westbrook: goes in for an awesome, highlight reel dunk and spends several seconds flexing and mean mugging to the crowd while the Knicks quickly inbounded the ball and left him behind while they headed up court.

The guy has mastered the art of meaningless stat accumulation.

Obi can’t hit the broad side of a barn this year from beyond the arc.
