no not great. We are giving up draft picks. If The Knicks gave Detroit their second back they got fleeced
Again, I have no issue trading DSJ, I just don't want to do it for Rose. The fit makes no sense. We need a shooter and they're getting back a short slasher.
I’m more concerned about giving up a valuable draft pick and hurting IQ. This was NOT necessarily other than Things getting one of his guys in here. Makes zero sense

No I completely agree I was being very sarcastic lol
Sorry about that 😂 I couldn’t tell. I just thought we were done making these type of dumb moves. It all depends on the draft pick. If they are trading back Detroit’s second its a disaster

Also, the fit with Jules. Rose is not letting offense run through Randle.

Agreed. There are so many reasons why this makes no sense. Obviously Thibs has power enough yo say “do what whatever it take to get my guy in here” and since we are off to a good start I guess the FO is going to do it. Look I was never a DSJ fan but I hope he gets a fresh start but I would have used him to get a shooter which we could use. On top of this we give up a Draft asset. I’m terrified at what they have up.
I know the over reacting thing is kind of what we do, but this is really a nothing deal. I think Rose is coming off the bench. Thibs already has praised Quick alot. He is not losing minutes.
Maybe this is a move that puts Quick starting with Payton, moving Bullock to the bench, and you still have Rose's scoring off the bench, which he said is why he kept Quick in the 2nd unit.
Rose is also a FA at the end of the year so this isn't even a long term investment. The draft compensation is probably a future second rounder or something since DSJ has no value.
This team is looking to make the playoffs while developing it's younger talent. This is not that big of a deal.

Ha, can't believe Frank survives a trade AGAIN- he's like Rasputin!😂
This has me sweating what kind of pick/s we're sending
I guess at least it isnt the Detroit second but still I still feel it makes zero sense. Plays no defense And I will not be surprised if he is coming here to play a good amount of minutes

Well, it the second rounder is one of those low ones, it’s upgraded from travesty to blah.
This deal still makes no sense unless you are moving Payton somewhere.
Nightmare if Quickley ends up without playing time after this. Don’t really trust Thibs regarding veterans.

I’m a little more at ease now. I just fear for IQ’s mins.

Maybe he should go down to the G-League. It might help him get traded too.

Me too, I'd be fine with Rose replacing Payton as the starting PG (if we got rid of Payton) and acting as a mentor for IQ, but having Rose AND Payton them means IQ gets squeezed- doubt Rose would be happy coming here for spot mins off the bench.

. Me too. Rose is going to play decent minutes I have no doubt in my mind which is why Thibs pushed for this. Unless we have a trade for Payton it’s going to impact IQ
Clyde’s not a fan of acquiring Rose either, based on his comments during this afternoon’s game.

This deal is subtraction by addition. You don't bring in Rose to play limited minutes. Thibs plans to finish the job this time.... operation destroy Derrick's knees is back on.

I don’t want Rose Starting. His defense is horrific and just like his first go around here kills us. I’d rather just keep Payton as a stop gap
This doesn't look goo for Quick at all...Payton is back to playing over 30 and Quick played 14 mins the last 2 games. Hare to imagine that Payton is all of a sudden gonna be the odd man out

Thibs loves to live in the past, it seems. Poor Quickley and the rest of the youth.
