No regrets about the trade. He didn’t want to be here so no need for that drama anymore. I’ve moved on and happy we got multiple first rounders and flexibility. He is far too brittle to play any extended period of time

I'd like to dig up some of my posts - I was in the camp we should look at trading him before signing him to big money. I felt like I was firmly in the minority for that view point.

And funnier still is where have all the posters gone that said we should dump Randle. My god, as fans in NY - how many times have we seen an athlete get a big contract and struggle the first year (usually with the Yankees) because they're trying to do too much, to prove in year 1 they are worth the full contract?

Also, those guys that were mentioned were in the top 10-20. KP clearly isn't on that tier. You shop him around to teams and you're still using his "potential" as a major selling point. Harder sell when he's already making the max.

Just wondering, since you're comparing KP to all those brittle players, what exactly did KP accomplish prior to being injured all the time? These are all elite level talents. KP's the epic flash in the pan that was not enough of a talent to drag a team to the playoffs.

Is your point seriously that KP's max contract is going to be an easy trade because the current Mount Rushmore of the NBA had injuries too?

Gallo went from an oft-injured, top-10 worst NBA contract to a valued utility AFTER he showed he could perform consistently in big spots. In the playoffs. Have we seen that from KP yet? Play the GM. Are you willing to take a 100mil shot on 4 years of brittle potential?

There were times some of our favorite knicks were not all that “Nice”. Ewing could be a selfish dick and not sure he always wanted to be here. THe gold club in Atlanta? Contract greed? Issues with Nellie?
SPree? LJ string of children out off wedlock? Mase running round with underage girls and a powederkeg of potential issues, Starks golf club issues......I could go on and on.
KP did not endear himself to us but for the most part he played hard and was fun to watch.
It think TImmy would be great on this roster right now.

He's no longer a Knicks. The only real connection that we have to him now is that his performance is linked directly to our pick via Dallas. I really don't care what KP does after that. But facts are facts. Those saying the trade set the franchise back years have to consider that the trade might have the opposite result. Still remains to be seen. But we can all agree that the deal has been a wash so far. Even if you want to say Dallas won, it's not by a huge margin. That said you compared KPs value to bonafide HOFers in the earlier post. The fact that you called KPs red flags earlier shows that you don't believe he's on that level. Why fight it?

. 1248 likes to feel he knows more than all of us. So him pumping his chest saying “I knew for a long time before anybody else that KP would be traded and wasnt worth the Max” basically proves that it was maybe the right thing to move on from him. Anyway I like 1248. Not right about most things but does make me laugh 😂

Well I've been asked not to jinx it...but it's hard not to point out the Mavs have been worse since KP's return and lost their 4th straight last night to a Mitchell-less Jazz. To antidote the jinx I'll say there is a ton of season left to play and I fully expect KP to play better at some point and the Mavs to right the ship at least somewhat. But in the meantime it's fun and interesting to see them languishing in the lottery strata.

And although of course I take no pleasure in the idea of a Porzingdog demise, I will posit that he was expected to be Robin to Luka's Batman -- perhaps it would be more fair to assign him the role of say a Commissioner Gordon. Or Alfred. Aunt Harriet?
