Thibs rotation is much like this team's D - tough to crack
I just want to say, neither Bullock nor Rivers offer much on defense. And lately, the offense has been spotty, at best. FREE FRANK!
I agree with this. Also this trade reeks of Cheeks for Strickland. I love Mo Cheeks but he was out of his prime at that time.
This guy has no chance here vmart. Give it two more weeks and hes either worth a 2nd rounder or even nothing. I do NOT think hes playing here with Tibs--something they dont like about him. Id give him a shot.
There is nothing wrong with Knox or Frank these guys are victims of stupid organizational decisions. Tibs is making a huge mistake. We are no better today than we were when KP, Rose and Melo were here along with Noah. We play Austin Rivers, Bullock and Payton these are just journeymen players. The motto was youth development. When did it stop with just Quicky. Very disappointed in direction of franchise.
You of course mean when did it stop with Quickley, RJ and Mitch, right? Knox, while sitting a few games is averaging 18 minutes (he has played 20 out of 22 games). Obi has been squeezed a bit at 12 minutes per.
On the other hand, the Knicks are learning about high level defense and what it takes to win, so there is that. Are should we ignore those things?
High level defense? I guess then Frank can sit the games out. He plays defense well. He should have been out there guarding Zack last night.

Realistically the high level defense is more about Knox and Obi and their downward or limited playing time and how it mixes with the insistence that the Knicks are not developing guys from your perspective (ie giving them playing time).
Frank has been hurt and is out of the 10 man rotation. I'm kind of shrugging my shoulders a bit cause a lot of OTHER things are happening in a good way.
I'd LOVE to see more from Knox, Obi, Frank, DSJr but understand why it's not happening and the cost of just throwing those guys out there with minutes.
You want Knox, Obi, Frank, DSJr to get minutes? Also say out loud that you don't care so much about the team defense and are OK if we lose a lot more games.... like in previous years.
Can we hijack this thread and make it about FVV? 54 pts.

Wood you say I Jimmered him in his own thread? Also, can we turn “Jimmer Fredette” into a verb? I’ll use it in a sentence. “Frank Kaminky Jimmered his career.”

By "Jimmered", do you mean flamed out in the NBA and travelled to China to become a basketball god? I thought that was "Starburying."
I’d like to see Frank and IQ paired with RJ on the wing.

I think a usage akin to “smurf” would be more appropriate. A verb of general applicability.

That’s a playoff team for the next however many years.
FVV great performance. For what its worth IQ has the kind of game that could get there. FVV is a product of a long well run team that developed. Toronto now looking at a refresh and Masai a free agent. Rumor is the Wiz willing to throw 10mil a year at him and some ownership opportunities. He’d be a great addition to any organization. Even ours but I don’t see him as second to Leon unless that’s what he wants to do. Leon hands the business side as team president, Masai does hoop and tends to his outside ambitions a bit. Thats just me talking.

It's true, Quickley could be very similar to VanVleet eventually. Maybe better.

Apparently, he does not
There are reasons Jimmer does not make a rotation, I don't know them, but I'd guess they are well documented

Well, Robinson is like six inches taller. Also, Jimmer had a reputation of being stubborn and unwilling to play a role early in his career. That reputation stuck, even if he made an earnest effort to change later on. If Jimmer accepted that he wasn't going to be Mahmoud Rauf early, he probably would've cobbled together s longer NBA career as a role player.

I think this is similar to the spot Frank is in. Everyone knows he can defend. He wants to be a PG but may not have all of the requisite skills or just has not shown enough in that area for a coach to warrant giving him enough minutes to develop those skills; kind of a foretold and vicious circle there. If he could figure out the Rivers role that he is playing next to IQ, that's where he would shine IMHO. Secondary ball handler

We will eventually villianize frank for his PG ambitions when he departs. Better for our collective fragile egos for him to fail then live with more regret.
In all fairness at some point you cut bait and move on. Was always hoping Frank would pull a “Robert Horry”. He was traded for Sean Elliot then the trade busted and he was sent back. He was implored to shoot more. When he came back he did and was amazing in Rockets first championship run.
I don’t care if I’m wrong or right, I want knick players to succeed and in uniform!

Maybe Starbury and Jimmer fever can bring back Steve & Barrys?
