The whole team needs to pass...we are averaging 20 ast per game which second to last in the league.

I would definitely say his strengths are shooting and he has gone to them first; not a bad thing.
And it's why we see IQ with the second unit, needs to just get the reps as a PG. Rose may slow down that some but I think in the long run it'll help.
I don't expect IQ's game to change much this year, next year will be a big tell on how he grows as a PG

working with the coaching and running the summer league team would be a great start I would think
He is given a lot of rope. He is allowed to make mistakes which is a bit baffling to me others get thrown to the bench and get the hook quickly. But aggressiveness is what I think Tibs is looking for And Quickly has that. Players like Frank and Knox need to learn from this. When given the next chance if given just be aggressive almost excessively aggressive. Barret often finds himself on the bench here and there due to lack of aggression.
Now I have been trying to gage Thibs and to me he is a veteran oriented coach. That is why many of the you g will based off the 90s Knicks will go the way of Lavar Posstell and John Wallace, the Dante Jones, and Walter McCarty of the world.
These IQ reverse-jinx threads by BRIGGS are the best
25 points in 20 minutes.
If anything he should be passing LESS

25 points on 10 shots. That’s amazing.

After watching Melo shoot 25 times for 25 points all those years watching this is surreal

The funny thing is Randle is playing the exact way i was hoping Melo would evolve over the years. As someone who can score whenever but draws a double team and finds the open man quickly. Randle has a great chance to become the knicks best player in the century.

You know what IQ needs? More threads by Briggs.
IQ seems to step up every time Briggs makes his weekly "IQ not ready" thread.

its literally the best
The minute we drafted IQ Briggs was irate, clear bust, total reach, etc etc
Then IQ struggles for a couple games and Briggy like "see? Told ya"
Some fans are very impressionable to the moment and extrapolate that into the future. The true genius of a team is to create something form which other teams did not see.
You do that by increasing opportunities.
Brandon Jennings, Mudiay, Mario, etc etc. Long list of casts offs that did not materialize.
Randle was far from the scrap pile and he got a 64mm contract and more important an opportunity. Last year he got to play top dog and it was not always pretty. The spin over was ugly. He fine tuned his game off season. Didn’t take much but he did it and it makes a big difference.
Fans think the business of running a team is easy but for the 100th time don’t get the narrow window to make a decision without the benefit of hindsight and that you don’t get to make a handful of “calls” and then boast the one that worked out.
Teams don’t get those pretty videos to highlight BEFORE they make a decision.

Give me a break. Iq will do better long run if he passes more— a more diversified game. If he’s hot shoot. If he’s not pick his spots but also be a ball mover. I guarantee thibs said this to him

point is IQ's struggles had nothing to do with his lack of passing. He's a rookie and hasnt played PG since high school and it shows.
On a side note:
Quickley per 36 minutes this season: 23ppg, 5assists, 4rebs, 1 steal,
.159 WS/48
the kids #s really project to all star caliber player

Would have been nice and amazing to watch Melo next to someone capable of getting points on limited shots. Anyone. Anybody.
Or getting to the line 12 times a game would have helped too.
Hell fucking no
He needs to be getting 18 FTs a game because I like winning
IQ needs to continue what he has been doing.
