I’d sign him 3-4 years in the off season. I like bullock too but Burks is a priority— more diverse
We can definetly pick him up for next year with a option on the following year.
The question is can he really be a consistent 20ppg scorer.
If so this would drastically change our outlook as far as looking in free agency to find a player to sign with cap space
Hypothetically let’s say we can sign a guy who averaged about 25 ppg and he asks for 30-35m a season
Or we sign burks who can average 17-20 ppg and we pay him 15-20m a season. This would then allow us the cap space to fill out our bench with a very rounded out team
The direction we go will be decided in the next 5 months.
The next 5 months will decide our future for the next decade

Burks puts up productive seasons. Injuries have been the main set back.
From his stats I noticed with the warriors in 29 min he has a 16ppg season. But that was with the warriors lol
All we can do is see if he sustains this level of play.
If he does he needs more minutes/more shots and to be a starter.
29 year old journeyman on a 6mm contract and the gracious Mr Briggs just a big old softy after a nice fuzzy win.
Alec will want a raise and a multi year contract. I’m sure he wanted one last year and we gave him a good opportunity to play.
I like him, but there are others and 4 picks coming in (I would imagine we trade some). I think I’ll wait and see what transpires before I lock long term deal with him. I’ll rain praise on our guys after good games but rain moneyafter every every nice win might be a bit spontaneous.

I don’t dislike Burks but I feel like he is replaceable you get guys like him or better with the cap exceptions. No need to use outright cap space before finishing your starting lineup.

Both Burkes and Bullock have outplayed their contract. The Knicks should bite the bullet and bring at least one of them back for next season if they will sign in the $8-$10 million a year range for 1-2 years.

I do know even if he doesnt score his defense is still top flight, so the gamble (like with the other guys) is he outplays that contract. If he shows some durability and matures into a better offensive player we could have another young stud. If he doesnt we have a defensive sub and good practice guy who's a money balancer in a trade

I hope to bring back both. They are ideal role players and offer different skill sets that all good teams need. Bullock with the 3&D and Burks with the scoring and secondary playmaking.
