I don’t see the future in Washington
In ny with more disciplined play— he would be a great addition at pg
Westbrook is the reason we beat Wizards twice. He's sorry and has a horrible contract. Unless they are attaching a first round pick that guarantees Cade and he gets bought out on arrival then I'd rather bring back Alexey Shved.
44mm next year, 47 year after. Ouch.
In the immortal word of Martin.... No.
Well, what if , umm, yeah .... after upteenth time its still a NO
We drafted Quick. It would be nice if Thibs would yknow let him play in the second half
I guess threads like this appear after a s#!tty loss, like mushrooms after a rain.
Although I feel stupid to even comment on Briggs’ reaction in affect after the game, but I thought it was clear to everyone what Westbrook is at this stage of his career.
Yes, the numbers are great, but that just doesn’t reflect on the team’s wins. His numbers are really an anomaly because I don’t know if there was a player who looked so good statistically without the team benefiting too much from him.
Someone once said he wasn’t trying to create “super teams”. No he didn't, but that's why he managed to drive the stars out of his own team several times.

With right players around him he went to finals. Washington completely stinks. Their secondary players stink—- we have good pieces. I’d bet we’d be very very formidable with Westbrook. I didn’t know he made 45 mm though — that’s rich

Come on, Briggs..."right players around him" were Durant and Harden. It's like saying that Kuzma brought the Lakers the title last season with "right players around him" (to avoid confusion, I'm not comparing Westbrook and Kuzma as players).

A young in prime Ibaka too!
“The right players”.......Randle and RJ coached by Thibs?
Westbrook is cooked. That cat is done.
LOLZ ..................NO !!!!!!!!!
Yes, once again, this is what we need. An empty stat filler headcase. More filling, with less taste. But boy, does he make losing fun to watch!
It wouldn't matter anyway. He'll end up in Brooklyn with everyone else in the league...
BRIGGS, didn't you mean to type "What about CWood?"
I like Westbrook. He still brings a lot to the table just can't be the alpha anymore - shot is not reliable enough, as we saw. Doesn't seem like he's come to terms with that yet.
Either way, salary is an absolute deal breaker. Cut it in half and it's still tough to swallow.
Unless stars align and he winds up in and out of the waiver process, going to have to pass.
Westbrook in a supporting role at $10MM per year - yes
Westbrook who still thinks he is an Alpha at $47M per year - hell no
How many years are left on his deal, if it’s only 2 after this year. Then I would be open to him.
Westbrook is Payton on steroids!
My comments will be the same. It's not a good fit, with the current roster.
You build around Westbrook.....not the other way around. We already have players that thibs gives major minutes to....who are also inconsistent volume shooters. So adding another inconsistent volume shooter does what? Westbrook is not getting 20 assist playing against zone all game. With this current roster, we need to add zone busters. At one point, I was looking forward to adding Westbrook on the team. That ship has sailed for me. I rather let Quickley and RJ take Westbrook minutes, so they can gain some NBA minutes. Same with Obi. These guys need playing time. We need to add guys that compliment our roster, without downgrading our youth development.
Westbrook is a great player. However, in order to justify his salary, he would have to shoot +60% from the field and +40% from three. Not to mention, did you see the last game against the Wiz? He could not hit a 20 footer. Pass. Unless he is waived. But at that point, why would he come here?

yeah but the next game he had 35 pts 14 rebounds, 21 assist.
I think he would play entirely different under this coaching staff, as opposed to scott brooks and his staff
